Darn that’s hot. If I may ask where are you located?Not too sure, I mean, the pose I had mine in was similar to the pose he comes out of the box in lol, but the difference here being - there's silica gel inside the box, and I endured -40 degrees celsius a few weeks ago, so I think it was totally a climate thing. I'm sure most other Ryus are fine, it's just sad that mine is the first to go!I might try to get ballsy later on and attempt a fix. Will post if I fix or ruin it

I collect the SF2 Jada and Storm figure lines (1:12) for dynamic posing since those are traditional plastic with better articulation.
But they don’t have the shelf presence of 1:6 or the larger scale statues.
I don’t trust these silicone bodies - I have a Freddy Mercury Live Aid kit with a TB League body - the elbow was slightly bent and split after a couple months.

Average temp in the Bay Area is around 70 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer and 55 F in winter.
Although I always worry about my figures whenever there is the occasional 90 or 100 Fahrenheit degree day in the summer.
Yeah, Canada. And it was actually the opposite - really cold. It was between minus 40 to minus 50. It happens at least once a year in Canada, I just wish I knew how to prevent further figure damages. It's not like we didn't have the heat on in the house 
you can try lubricate him with meguire hyper dressing 1:4 ratio using a smooth cloth gently it will dry matte and give it some protection.
if you use superglue maybe you can touch up the area with paint.
or maybe give it some shading to help blend in and also provide more depths since the crack is where the flex lines are..if you apply superglue and have a matching powder (be it color pencil or weathering powder) the powder will fill in the gap when in contact with the glue.

yes..maybe slower..maybe worse. depend on the in box condition and whether it has protection against the plastic trays. the silica pack aint gonna do nothing they are made for snacks packed in vacuum or sealed bottles.
Honestly, really good advice, I appreciate it. I'm no stranger to using pastels on these TBLeague figures, and that was actually my next thought, was if I use the tiniest amount of superglue to seal the cracks and just add some shading to the muscles. I just haven't grown the balls to attempt to superglue him yet lol I'm scared

I'm still very new to this style of figure, but the more I think about it, the more I'm leaning to passing as well. It'd be different if there's a 3+ year guarantee or something.
I think I had mine for just over 1 year, which is a shame. I'm also embarrassed to admit I'm the first to have issues with this figure, seeing as I'm usually very careful. I used a moderately simple pose, but after speaking to others about my issue, it seems it wasn't really the weather here in Canada that affected it; it was the pose. I love the aesthetic of the silicone bodies, but it is heart-wrenching to watch them whither away at a speed that surely accelerates PVC plastic.

Yup, that's the pose that caused him to crack. It's basically a museum pose. The thing is, the way this silicone figure was cast was almost in a "T pose", so having his arm closer to his hip (the hand with the fist) caused too much stress on the shoulder because it was out of its default cast shape. At this point I've realized there's not much I can do, and the damage is very small compared to some silicone figures I've seen, but it does make the figure seem "less" in my eyes, if that makes sense. I held him so high in my collection, top of my shelf, and I feel like putting something else there now.Really sorry to hear about this

Wow, yeah, that's really not a pose that would have me worried usually...
Of course that makes sense. I mean, it's action figures we're talking about so you wanna move them and change poses. If not we'd all go for statues instead. That's the fun of those figures: You can choose how you wanna display them. But if you have to worry every step of the way about damaging the skin potentially then it just ruins all the enjoyment...
I mean, we all know the risks by now but still... with such an expensive figure in a light pose and after a relatively short time... it just plain sucks... Really sorry about that.

damn I'm mad I missed this after waiting years for something like this...lol Will have to settle for ken and go on the hunt for ryu I guess. I see akuma as well but not as huge a fan.
Your post made me so paranoid that I sold my Ryu before it started breaking down. Such a shame. It was my favorite figure of 2023, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried about it cracking. I never even held the figure with my own bare hands lol.
I wish they used a higher grade of silicone (real medical grade by smooth-on and not just claim they use medical grade like some companies do), but I guess it would be more expensive. Some collectors have had collectibles for over 20 years with no cracking.

I’m at the point where I’m either going to cancel Ken and Akuma or just sell them so I don’t burn my NRDs. I’ll just stick with the Jada Toys versions and build up the whole roster.
I'm sorry to make yall feel like that about Ryu. I'm so careful with my figures and this was the second TBL I've had crack on me (first was a M35 in the elbow). The M35 i could understand. He had a "hand in pocket" pose, so his elbow was slightly bent. But Ryu was in such a safe pose (I thought)
I'll be honest, he looks a little goofy on my display now because I'm preventing any more breakage, but yea, I still love this figure and I'll keep mine until the day it fully decomposes lol its just sad it happened so early. I thought about contacting Iconiq about it, but I'm sure there's nothing that could truly be done for my case besides buying another one (and with that current market price, no thanks)

I won’t do that but it feels like this line is faltering in terms of releases. Ken has been a year since pre-order with no updates for ages, is he not just the same body as Ryu? And I heard Lord Turel left the company?
