I think something has to be “hinky” with the license. Hot Toys shared the trailers on their social medias before the movie released, and one of their Cosbaby designers posted concept art for a Joaquin Joker cosbaby years ago. I think a wrench got thrown into their plans - whenever that was.

Does anyone happen to know what the cheapest, officially licensed Joaquin Joker item has been to date? I feel like that would help clear things up.

There was this awful looking NTWRK exclusive statue, which was originally priced at $200 (but is marked down to $40). What’s the deal? Why was this allowed, and not a single release InArt figure for $400ish?

Still no response from Specfiction is frustrating. Anyone know a better way of contacting them besides their "Contact Us" page on their website?

Email and their Instagram dm, not sure about FB as I don’t use it. What are you wanting to know?

In my latest email to them, it took two days for a response due to their limited work hours on the date I messaged. They’re usually pretty quick on both email and IG. Sometimes it’ll be Todd himself replying instead of one of his employees, I suppose dependent on what you’re inquiring about.

What is so hard about getting the 4 pack and then selling Arthur Fleck, Bathroom Joker, and Hospital Joker for $395 each?

That’s what I would do if I only wanted one. Keep the regular red suit Joker, sell off the rest. There are going to be a ton of people out there that want that Arthur Fleck and Bathroom Joker as standalone figures. If you do it right and split them up, you could brag about having that Murray Show Joker and the background for $350, which is a complete bargain. The fact that there is a third base thrown in to help sell it makes it even easier.
I think the InArt Ledger aftermarket prices might be affecting it. At least in FB groups (where you don't lose 10-20% of the price to fees) you can barely break even at the moment if you want to part out the deluxe. That was my plan since I only wanted the regular haired version, but now I've been sitting on ~1k (I got a regular first before splurging on the deluxe) and a huge box for 8 months, waiting for prices to pick up a bit again so I can at least break "even".

If I can pick up bathroom Joker on its own after the release for $395, I'll gladly do that. But I don't want to have all that money and space tied up in the process again just to get it.

There’s not much out there but there was like a round table directors conversation and Phillips admitted that it took a while to get the film off the ground and it was due to WB wanting to merchandise the hell out of it, expectedly so. Phillips admitted that they openly asked him, “you realize we sell Joker pajamas at Target?” or something like that, and I think Phillips threatened to not proceed with the film if they were going to general merchandise. Speculation: I’m assuming they probably worked out an internal contract/agreement that if there were to be merchandise, that’d it’d have to be really expensive to essentially preserve his film.

Hence, INART coming out a long time ago and saying that there was this WB mandate they had to abide by.
Ah I can see how that is the reason. He did make the film as something more closer to a character study then a comic book film. Definitely understand that he didn't want it 100% labeled as such especially because it was more adult oriented then kid friendly. Best idea Gunn has made was to make any film like Joker or The Batman a Elseworlds story ( black label) type films. Hoping more serious and darker takes can be done like Superman: Red Son, Batman: Gotham by Gaslight etc. With that I can honestly say it definitely seems like a steal to get the deluxe and two figures plus two diorama bases.

I think it will be an extremely rare type of person who buys the 4 pack with the intent of selling off bathroom Joker and an even rarer one who prices it below $550.

I’m just saying, if you only want one or two Joker options, you can easily recoup the costs by buying the whole thing and selling what you don’t want as long as you’re not greedy about it (i.e, “I want the red suit and bathroom scene but I want to have paid NOTHING after it’s all said and done”).

If I were passionate enough about this Joker, that’s what I would do. However, I’m sure once I opened the set and messed around with them in person, I’d probably just end up keeping them or finding a reason to keep them if they were all really nice.

It makes perfect sense in principle but I just can't imagine thee being a huge market for Arthur Fleck or hospital clown only buyers, which wil make up the majority of the parts people want to offload.

Maybe some who have already splurged on a custom Joker in the red suit might only want Arthur but, I'm just expecting that since the price of the 4 pack is so high, and this Joker doesn't have nearly the same degree of hype as TDK Joker, order numbers- therefore production numbers- will be low and only those who really want this set will be buying.

If someone has a really strong urge to only get Bathroom Joker, they may be better off trying to make an arrangement with a fellow collector who's only interested in the deluxe two set.
Going in on the 4 pack together where the one after Bathroom Joker pays less than half due to the lack of dioramas with their figures and they also take on the burden of trying to recoup costs on the clown figure would at least guarantee getting the figure they really want, which might not be easily aquired or affordable after release...

I know right now, people are focused on the price but understand that Bathroom Joker was a pivotal part of the movie. It represents the change.
I totally agree with you but see for me, I love the deluxe version because most of the movie you are actually watching Arthur and connecting with his life and situation. As much as bathroom joker represents the start of the transformation. It's the classic Arthur that has one of my favourite quotes from the movie. He is the anchor to the whole journey for us as an audience. That's why I was very happy with the Deluxe choice of choosing the starting point of his life and the final stage as Red Joker, everything else is the middle of the journey!

Yup. Everyone has their own way to justify their purchase. Good for you!

How I’m justifying it also. But would still love the dancing version.

Personally waiting for payday this month and then pre ordering a deluxe with Kit.
