I’ve noticed some slight differences from the proto. The proto has more texturing and an armor like pattern on the webbing. The final product seems to have that detail just printed onto the suit.

Good call. I probably would have never noticed if you never pointed it out. I just went and compared the proto pics to the released pics. While I do prefer the textured look, I think ultimately it was done to reduce bunching, creasing, and wrinkles when posing the figure. By having printed webbing they're able to make the suit thinner and therefore reduce the aforementioned issues.

In the end, Hot Toys made the right call making that change as it probably helps with the longevity of the suit material/figure. I'd imagine the textured webbing could also be prone to flaking if over-posed after awhile. Anyways, I'm looking forward to getting this next month.

I think you're correct in surmising that they did it for QC related reasons, but I'm not sure they made the suit any thinner. I think it may be that the deeper grooves on the prototype suit made it more prone to tearing in extreme poses (or fatiguing over time) because the material was thinner in those areas. But regardless, I agree that HT probably made the right call.

I'm not buying this - if I ever get a Tom Holland Spidey, and I'd like to, it'll be a normal Spiderman suit - which I feel like we haven't seen yet (get rid of that black ***t!)

Just wanted to say though I'd never knock a museum pose, so if that's all it's safe to do with this particular figure it wouldn't necessarily put me off. Although, if there was a better alternative way of making the suit that Hot Toys didn't go with, I can well believe that given their consistent, unnecessary use of rubber on ED-209.

saw him at rebel base hong kong today, great piece to own!

Woah, i find this is one of the most interesting figure to pose from hot toys. Amazing.

Yeah, it is pretty amazing. And those mechanical arms look great. Initially I thought they could be a pain for balance etc without the stand. But they actually help, and look cool at the same time.

Something has to be done with that giraffe neck look though. Seems the only way may be to bore out the head sculpt inside more. I would probably only use the masked version, which I guess only need a small amount of tuning perhaps.

Yeah the neck looks crazy long. Not necessarily a deal breaker, but the suit I am more worried about. This is a figure I don't really want to leave in a museum pose, but it is almost required if you want longevity from the costume.

I imagine that the "seat" for the neck on the unmasked head is just a surrogate inset for the typical rubber socket that all HT figs have. Ideally, if you can safely remove it and lower the height of the socket internally, then in theory you can lower the mounting point so the head sits lower. That's probably impossible for the light up head and at best very difficult for the swappable eye one. But for the Parker sculpt I would bet it's fairly easy.

Personally, I feel xenomorph does the best reviews. His whiplash II is one of the best reviews ever (it breaks on him). That is what I want from a review, someone who tests a figures capabilities knowing it could go too far. Clipperking has great reviews also if you can get past his side comments.

I love Clipperking's reviews apart from the occasional swipes at other reviewers or people who've made comments on his reviews that he didn't like etc. The cursing doesn't bother me at all - ''this is a ****ing great figure/a ****ing ***t figure'' - in fact, I like that, I think it's one of the things that sets his reviews apart. The cursing conveys honesty and that he's not just a shill. Heck, even the slaggings of other reviewers I might actually agree with, but I just wish he'd be the bigger man and leave that petty stuff out of his own reviews.

He has an excellent eye for the futzing and posing of a figure.

Yes and he will take risks(i.e. cutting out fat suits) with his figures even though he pays extra to get them early. Most people won't do that.

Jazzinc doesn't really do reviews per se but he is also not afraid to customize a toy. It takes some guts to do that sort of thing with a $200+ toy.

This isn't a knock on anyone that reviews toys exactly but sometimes I feel they are really just shilling to get free product. That doesn't mean I don't value their insight, I just take it with a grain of salt.

If I reviewed figures in pretty sure no company would give me toys for free, I tend to do ridiculous things with toys. Right now donald trump is relaying orders to darth Vader on the death star while darth jar jar oversees things on the emporers throne.

I am considering dressing up trump as a Sith Lord using a spare darth maul outfit :)

I really enjoy his reviews for his technicality and video quality.

Is Clipperking still going with his reviews ? I used watch them about 1-2 years ago, but then he wasn't coming up in Google searches. Will have to go have a look again.

No he’s done. I agree with everyone that Xenomorph is one of the few out there that is genuine, no agenda, and doesn’t really take any comments from anyone else (I think he avoids these forums pretty well which is probably a good thing for a reviewer.) helps with bias. I don’t mind Keybaord warriors either.

I agree to someone above saying that Clipperking gets on his high horse and has a tough time coming down at times.

Personally I enjoy watching all the main reviewers, and like how they each have their own style. Some might show off the figure better than others, but they're all still fun to watch.

Yeah totally agree. Just when you think "a review is a review" along comes someone with a different take. I actually really liked how Jenkin Wong (from Hong Kong) actually answered specific questions from people online (FB ??). I'd never seen that done before for 1/6 figures, but actually a great idea.
