Yeah, seemed a bit more high res before my post. The forum always seems to blow things up for you. I really hope thats not the paint we end up with. Sort of puts my Wonka figure in jeopardy. You'd think they would put their best foot forward with these.

That's not really a defence when companies like Hot Toys, VTS/Dam, ThreeZero on a good day, and even Sideshow nowadays can get 80%+ of the quality and detail of their protos in the final product.

I really only included that for those that will rally to its defense with "it's only a prototype!" As if I didn't know. But I think you're right.


After that wonderful early head sculpt picture I'd be embarrassed to display this.

that is a massive drop from Hot toys quality prototype (since she worked for hot toys) to M8 quality prototype , i can only IMAGINE the drop of quality in the production stage

Sorry, I knew you were excited to add it to your collection. It always stings when a figure you look forward to isn't up to snuff.

A John Lennon figure is something I have wanted in my collection for a very long time. But I have standards and this piece isn't meeting them. The buttons are huge on the shirt. The suit is ill fitting. The glasses are awful. He has a paint job on the hair which is close to Sideshow's paint job on Faramir. The hair sculpt itself doesn't sit naturally but more closely resembles a helmet.

Big heaving sigh of disappointment.

I think I am actually going to go ahead and just cancel my BBTS order now...don't want to risk forgetting to cancel and coming home one day and finding this thing on my door step and being out $300...my guess is that the M8 website, Twitter, and Instagram accounts will be disappearing soon...
