Funny that no-one on this forum has even seen the movie yet already don't like it. Imagine if we did that to every movie, the industry wouldn't exist because people make their minds up before viewing. Or is that the cool thing to do now?

I don't know that anyone here has said they don't like it yet. There's not much to like or dislike about the film itself without seeing it for yourself.

It's interesting to see things develop, and how they relate to the past. I'm curious to see how it pans out, but I don't have a horse in this race either way.

Yeah we all do that with the smaller movies perhaps. But in regards to the hype surrounding TFA and big it is in history it's unfair to give an opinion on it that will be respected unless you've seen it.

Well, that's easy to do because the odds are in it's favour: Lucas replaced by JJ.

Let's at least wait for the movie before being so negative, I happen to think this one will be decent, but I'm old and wise enough not to get my hopes up too high. If it does suck, feel free to shout negativity from the rooftops for ever more, but give it a chance.

Also, we need a separate spoiler thread so those of us who won't be seeing it for a few weeks can stay involved here..

Took me 16 years to appreciate that there were more good bits in the PT than I initially thought. Not good films per se, but films with more good in them that I gave credit to.

Before anything leaked about TFA it already felt like it had more potential than the PT. It looks stylish; it has original cast members; and it has JJ.

I don't think it will take as long as 16 years to appreciate its finer points.

We've been fortunate to get both: the unfettered, unfiltered gospel according to George for the back story, and now the pure fangasm of the sequels.
