I finally got my Chewbacca today. I really like it, I think any complaints I had really died down when I opened Chewbacca up.

When I opened him up his feet were set back on an angle and he could not stand. Ended up having to remove the feet completely and tinker with the joint connecting them to get him to stand freely and straight on his own. The hands were a pain to remove... I was somewhat scared to remove those, but they snapped on quite easily and feel more secure than other HT releases.

The fur is to dark in a lot of places when looking at Chewbacca from the OT. Not a real big deal. It almost feels like there is a residue on the fur on each shoulder and the hips where the fur is darkest. Don't really know what it is, but the fur has a different feel in those areas than anywhere else. Anyone else notice this? I also think the head is to long when looking at pictures.

As for futzing.... that little comb is **** and really does nothing. My fingers ended up being the best option and ended up working real well. I never liked the fur combed down look on Chewbacca... to me it never fit him. I just ended up fluffing the fur almost like a Christmas tree and just went with a more tangled/battle look. I know my Chewbacca is not really futzed as good as some I have seen here, but for me I am happy with it. Would like to futz his ESB look eventually.

Here are my crappy Ipad mini pics in my way to small lightbox...

Only thing I worry about now is that my shelves are brown...... not sure how good he will look posed.... brown on brown may not be great....

The thing that amazes me about this figure is that no two seem alike. Each figure looks decidedly different. All the futzed pictures look different. From the hair color to the shape of the head. Was this intentional?

My Chewbacca arrived today and I must say that I'm very impressed with the figure. The head looks pretty good and looks like it doesn't need much futzing . The only complaint I have is I wish the bag opening didn't have straps that need to be undone to open the bag, I wanted to put something in the bag to weigh it down a bit so it would hang better. The straps are too small for me to try to manipulate too open. Otherwise I'm more than happy I reordered the figure after the first scary pics came out of the production figure. Still not dumping my SS stuff in favor of HT but on board for ROTJ Boba .

You just use tweezers. However, Im pretty sure that pouch is sewn shut anyhow...

Lighting, how people choose to futz it--the fact that this is made entirely out of fur so it's going to have lots of variation. What would be amazing is if everyone had identically futzed figures.

mine was crap so hoping ssc will send me a new one. everything on mine was way to dark. I seen lots of pics on on here and everybody else`s was lighter then mine

Figure is looking pretty good there. :)

And it's funny, the one thing they didn't glue down on this figure is the one thing I wish they had-- those little metal pouches on the bandolier that are constantly sliding around! It seems like you can't even pick up the figure without messing them all up again. Lol

I'm going to wait a couple of months for the 3.5 version, the 3.0 was a big improvement from 2.1, but it still has a few bugs. :rotfl

You think that is to dark? Are you joking?

As for futzing it..... you must have been yanking at the hair as hard as possible. I had some fur fall out as well.... but it is expected...

Received mine today. Still need to figure them out (especially Chewy) posing-wise, but couldn't be happier. The fur on Chewy is unlike what I thought it would be/feel like, but really is nicer than what I had imagined.

Damn, sorry to hear that. Looking at your pic, your Chewie doesn't really seem much darker than most on here, but then I know it might feel a lot different in hand.

Thanks dave! :hi5: Personally, I think you set the bar as far as Chewie's go though.

I agree with those metal pouches. Anytime I move Chewie I have to slid those back into place, must just have been an oversight on the part of HT....

Thanks, but I still think Matrix nailed it the best so far (just like with his Vader).

In any case though, Chewie has definitely overtaken my Robo, Cavill and BD T2 figures as my all-time favorite. Despite his issues, it's still really impressive what HT was able to do, and I never get tired of seeing him on my shelf. :)
