Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Hot Toys are making Darth Vader's entrance? I must have a really childish sense of humour to find that funny.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Looks like the inner cape is silk lined, which is nice.

Hope we don't have to wait until Christmas for the official pictures. If they box was bigger, the cape/tunic material hung better and the gloves were reworked to be real gloves instead of slip-on gauntlets, I would be very excited about this figure.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

This prototype already looks better than anything Sideshow has done with Vader, the helmet looks off in some pics due to lens distortion, the real helmets have the same issue happen. I will say the belt should touch the cod, no gap, belt boxes need to almost touch the belt buckle, chest armor need to be positioned down a bit staying flat to the chest, the chestbox needs to be larger the ANH version was larger than ESB which was in turn larger than ROTJ. The inner Robe also needs to come in right next to the chestbox. I know there is no way they will have the rough looking paint work the real ANH suit had due to the gunmetal paint being brushed on. Easy enough to fix for even the most novice painter though. The few minor issues addressed and this ANH Vader will be Golden :D

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Though many people think semi gloss is accurate for the ANH Vader dome, it was predominantly gloss throughout ANH. Only in select instances did it appear flat or semi gloss, but that can be explained by dulling spray and how the surroundings were reflected on the dome or how well lit the scene was and constantly full of fingerprints. It was not polished gloss like ESB and RotJ, but it certainly wasn't matt.

The gunmetal color should be darker. And the front part of the upper eyebrows should be black.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Budget Stark should be posting a video soon of Vader. Vader looks a lot better seen in the background of his video of Boba Fett.

Agree on the too-bright gunmetal but you are quite an expert on Vader. What are your thoughts on the sculpt?

To me, the dome brow has issues but the facemask looks very close (the extreme looking-down angle and bright/back lighting might be responsible for the complaints people have) to being accurate. But would be interested in your thoughts.
