Re: ACI Toys: ARAGORN 1/6th Figure

All this talk of thinning hair hits close to home. :( :lol

The Ringwraith looks like it might be cool. I will say the outfit on Aragorn appears to be pretty nice but I'm just not feeling this. I'll shut up now because all I'm doing is raining on the parade and I hate when people do that.

Looks like Xena Warrior Princess.

Looks like Strider on Weathertop.

Even Viggo looks like he's wearing make up.

Re: ACI Toys: ARAGORN 1/6th Figure

Just made me wonder why don't they just 3d scan Viggos head and print that. Of course this might be an expensive venture. The money will be worth it.

Re: ACI Toys: ARAGORN 1/6th Figure

I think it looks great. How much do these figures usually go? 160 EUR would be my guess?

SOLUTIONS TO YOUR PROBLEMS:

3. I know nothing of styling hair -- Learn. Are you bald?

Lol. Based on my wife's comments on how my daughters hair has turned out when I have had to help her get her ready yeah I am in trouble.

Don't get me wrong I am not closed off to hair. I am just not sold on it yet. The customs people have been putting up here have changed my opinion of being totally against it and I think some of Hot Toys like the new Widow and Cat Woman turned out pretty well with hair (much better than if it was sculpted). If it can be perfected it will give a whole new realism to the 1/6 figures.

Re: ACI Toys: ARAGORN 1/6th Figure

This "real" hair may be all fine and dandy with Aragorn since he was always such a strooble top, but put real hair on Boromir and see how that goes.

Boromir might be easier because most of his hair was straight. It's the messy look that seems to be real hard to copy. I wonder if the might glue most of his down against the head sculpt to keep his look.

I've been thinking, that soon enough, they`ll have finer, better fibers , in smaller scales. I've been making 1/72 scale ships , and all the rigging is done with a special fishing line, its tougher than steel, but its flexible, and doesn't corrode etc. Soon enough, 1/6 scale companies will start using more convincing materials to do hair, and I hope its soon ;)

Yes, real hair is an inevitable transition. We'll all look back one day and our plastic-haired figures will look so dated and siiy.

Re: ACI Toys: ARAGORN 1/6th Figure

Maybe. I personally can't see that time ever coming.

(you may bookmark this post for future ridicule should I be wrong) ;)

I don't either unless there is a dramatic way to make it look good pretty much out of the box.

And they will cure baldness too. And we shall have peace.
