I think ... As MUCH as I like this one I will be skipping it... I told my little guy that's might be selling my Captain America TFA PF, and he got ALL glum. That movie is one of his favs, and in the last few weeks I have decided on the 1 of any 1 character rule. So it looks likei will be missing this one

Well no way you can sell that then bro. I only watched TFA yesterday aswell. Love that movie. Give the little guy a high five from me and tell him he has impeccable taste :lecture

Funny you mentioned that Spidey, TFA is going to stay put here too. Too sentimental to me. Great statue. Just had to step back from da HYYYYYYYYPPPPPEEEEEE:dance

I think that's the attitude that keeps people in the game for the long haul. You can go crazy or crash and burn trying to be a completest or get everything you think looks cool. I have simple rules I try to abide by. I have to like the character, I try to limit each character to 1 per scale ( I collect pieces from BD and Koto as well as SSC), and I have to like the way a piece looks. The last one is the hardest. I passed on the original Cap PF. I want one desperately. If I had no patience and an itchy trigger finger, I would have bought this PF even though, deep down, I know it's not the Cap PF that I want. Spider-man fans are going through the same thing now. If they don't own the 1st Com or PF, do they buy the new Com? Are they settling because of money issues or are they really digging the piece because they think it looks good and will make for a fine representation of the character in their collection?

We all face these types of issues (and more) as collectors. Only each one of us can answer these types of questions as they relate to our collecting habits. The most important thing is to be focused and honest with ourselves. I think that's what still makes collecting fun for me.

Well put filip, This is as much a discipline as anything else. I have neither the money, nor the space to have everything. Don't buy something to fill a void if your doing one of each character. It will wreck you big time. Honestly these forums are often times a great resource for information, but much of the time I see these personal/ internal battles taking place partly because of the hype. I know because I have fallen victim to it. One need to make a choice based upon THEIR own personal situation not the entire forums situation.

Agreed on all accounts.

If you really want to enjoy the ride collect for you. Much more rewarding and at the end of the day you'll have a personal attachment to every piece you have in one way or another.

I actually loved the film the first time I saw it, and I continue to love it EVERYTIME I watch it. My little guy even knows his favorite parts and can quote the lines... Honestly, he has awesome taste in movies... Which brings me to...

Yeah I don't know what the heck I was thinking. I love TFA peace to much to sell it, and the fact that it was the FIRST statue I ever bought, and my little guy kept elbowing me into it. Exactly what you said m8, just to much sentiment.

I agree with everything you said. However, due to my own situation I'm getting this Cap. I refuse to pay the prices for the original and I dig this conglomeration of Ultimates/WWII Cap. Now, will I say this will be the Cap in my collection for the duration? I can't, because if they ever do a Modern Cap in 1/4 scale again and it fits my Ideal Cap, I may pick that up, however I'd also be selling this one at the same time. Swapping Caps as it were. But this does fill the Captain America void in my collection nicely. To each their own, and I hope you get the Cap you're looking for.

Exactly what I am doing, couldn't have word it any better :rock. Thank god for the preview of this new Cap at SDCC because I was about to pull the trigger on the original Cap.

These are very true words King. The hype train has gotten everyone at some point in time. It usually happens early on when peeps start collecting. A piece looks great and you buy into the hype even though it may not even be a character you know much about or are not really that in to. However, sooner or later, lack of space and/or money force us to think hard about what we really want. At some point in time we have to sharpen our focus in regards to what we want our collection to look like. I feel that peeps that don't get to this point end up burning out and leave the hobby.

Well, that all said, I will be passing on this Cap statue. Not because there is anything wrong with it (it is a gorgeous piece) but because it is not THE Cap statue that I am looking for in my collection. Here's hoping that we see another classic Cap PF in the near future. Congrats to all the peeps ordering this Cap PF. It does looks great.

That's all good Josh. So long as it's a piece you want in your collection, then go for it. Nothing stops you from selling it if another Cap statue you like comes along in the future.

Good to see a sensible conversation on here. I nearly got sucked into the hype of this. It is an amazing statue though no doubts about it. Same with the Spidey CQ, I actually love that piece but I've got the original Spidey CQ, do I really need another in a scale I don't even collect?

But whats good about 1/4 is it's a big scale to collect & I haven't got & probably never will have enough space to display multiples of the same characters.

My rule is 1/4 only & one character only. When it comes to DC & Marvel it's comic versions only. That's why I wouldn't buy the Legacy Hulk, even though I think that thing looks amazing but hey I'm getting Planet Hulk :yess:

I think I can limit myself pretty well with the same stipulations you have, but I don't have any money. That's the hardest thing to realize.

Dude you picked the wrong hobby to be in...

I know, my favorite Marvel characters are Hulk and Cap. I like Skaar the most, but he isn't featured enough.

All I want now is an awesome Cap Statue. Which this one is, but I want a bigger cap. More muscular.

One thing I know as a collector for the last 3 years is that I buy what I like , don't give a f.... what line it is or what scale as long as Ilike it, I don't want to compete with any other collectors or to show off my collection, what I put on my shelves I do it 4 me...Never been a fun of Cap America, but I think this piece is cool so am PO as soon as it goes up...peace my fellow collectors...:)

Seems like a big what if. Just like how I want to buy someone's Skaar axe hand off of them if their statue breaks. Hahaha

My foolish hopes! :) :lol :crying
