Ill be grabbing it as well. Always better to have the HD version. :rock

I got it this week (when I also got some 3D Blu-Rays: Life of Pi and the Cirque Du Soleil one) and I thoroughly enjoyed it as it's been a long time since I watched it. Parts were dated (man, those Brownies are awful-- hilarious that Kevin Pollak was one, totally forgot that and it's obvious why they are noticeably absent from the cover art and the back pictures) but it was great to see it again and I'm glad to have it added to my collection. I think my three kids'll love it and it's a wonderful precurser to watching all of the LOTR and Hobbit movies with them... scary at parts for them when they reach a certain age but not at the level of LOTR.

Any child of the 70's and 80's I recommend you pick it up (there were only two left in my local Wal-mart when I bought it)... The sad part? Val Kilmer. He was one of my favourite actors in the late 80's/early 90's and I thought for sure he'd be the next Harrison Ford (passing of the torch). Sad to think about the career he could've had... He's great on the screen in this (not that he's dead... just pretty much his film career for the last ten years or so).

Totally agree about Kilmer. He seemed to be poised to be either the next Tom Hanks OR Harrison Ford. He was great in early comedies like Top Secret and Real Genius, held his own as a dashing antagonist/protaginst in Top Gun and Willow and then seemed to have truly arrived with his inspiring Doc Holliday performance in Tombstone. And then his career just never really exploded.

Curse you Schumacher.

Awesome! Glad that you still enjoyed it and that the it's worth a purchase on Blu. I got to get to ordering it. :rock

Recieved my The Hobbit Digibook and also the Target one with Bilbo.

My Target one, the box was alittle mashed, but the bluray and Bilbo were fine. I'll probably sell this one. It does have a different cover.

Does the blu ray have a slip and if so, does it have different artwork or just the artwork on the box is different?
Pics??:wink1:

It doesn't have a slip and it looks the same at the cardboard packaging on the Target release:

Aww bummer that it doesn't have a slip but that's cool artwork. If Target was releasing this as just an exclusive slip, I might pick it up. I'll be DDing on this release...maybe even triple dip

Just picked up Roger Rabbit. My god, what a hard film to find. Best Buy didn't have it, and both Targets I went too had the Blu Ray in the DVD case..and that just will not do.

But Wal-Mart pulled through, thankfully.

My man. I knew a fellow LOTR fanatic wouldn't let me down.

So, there is only one 3D version, correct?

And if the movie was called "The Gandalf" it'd probably be one of my favorites as well. ;)

Well, if you want a Bilbo centric cover you could get that card from Wal-Mart. If you had done so earlier you might also have yours already. :nana:
