ha yeah, same with me. I've been there 3+ times a day just in case they put another one out, or an order for the vest got canceled.

Okay, now I don't feel so obsessive-compulsive doing the exact same thing for the last week! In fact, my attentiveness paid off just now when a left gauntlet mysteriously popped up on TA's website for me for the first time. Since I didn't want to be charged $4 to ship a single item, I threw in a couple pairs of hands & the knee armor (which IMHO all look a little oversized).

To date, I'm out over $100 in parts at TA & I still need a pouched utility belt & that damn light-up stand, not to mention a Hot Toys body that will work. It probably would have made more sense to just get the whole SSC set at this point & sell off what I didn't want, but I certainly don't mind supporting TA's invaluable service to the collecting community.

BTW, cokebabies, which cinematic portrayal of Joy Division did you like most, 24 Hour Party People or Control?

I think their cans of Dinki-Di...a staple of those roaming the wastelands.

Actually, it is commonly known that the troopers didn't want their superiors to hear them bs-ing while they were on duty, so they would communicate with tin can phones.

Definitely Control, although I'm a bit wary about trusting Deborah Curtis's story completely. If you're interested, the documentary "Joy Division" is fantastic, and is far and away my favorite.

Yeah, I dug that documentary as well. All three films would make a great Joy Division triple-feature.

I could go on, but we may get dangerously off-topic. Now if only Boba Fett had been killed in a fashion that would have actually added to his legend than become the subject of ridicule by us bitter fans. ;-)

I don't feel so bad now - I just got about $30 worth of pieces to upgrade my Hasbro OTC. Pathetic, I know. But I'll be :yess: when the ROTJ version comes out.

The Boba parts were actually pretty high for TA compared to say sandie (Boba's flat boots were $13 and the helmet is nearly $30!,) but sold out in the blink of an eye!

I got this figure today. Moron from UPS left it on the ground, it rained heavily, and box got water damage, but figure is fine. Modded his vest a bit haphazardly following some suggestions here, and it really looks a lot better than it did right out of the box IMO.

Nice figure. Doesn't blow me away (partly being spoiled by so many great figures being made nowadays), but definitely in my top 3 or 4 stock(ish) SSC figures that I own. Up there with Vader IMO.

Didn't notice the tube was loose, but this shows the chest armor:

Fett is here up north at last.
No time for pics yet, but some first impressions....

I don't know...sometimes, being on here and reading reactions to these figures is like going to the movies for me....I have to wonder if everyone saw the same movie I did half the time, especially if it's one I like and the general vibe in here is "it sucks" or at least a lot of disappointment, and I actually like it.

Well, that's about how it is with this figure for me...after weeks of reading all the negative, disappointing reactions, I dampened my expectations and braced myself for the lego-vested, mismatched wrong-colored junky mess that would require complete disassembly and endless hours of futzing to possibly end up with a figure that looked somewhat acceptable.

What I got was one of the biggest "wow's" from a Sideshow figure I've had in a long time. From the big bold box to the figure itself...I'm just damned impressed. I think Sideshow did an outstanding job here...the detail is great, the cut-n-sew is top-notch, the paint apps are well-applied with very effective "damage" and distress marks. Even the jumpsuit has a good, weathered look to it.

Does the figure need some futzing? Heck yes...what figure (from any brand) doesn't require some attention to get it "just so" for those photo shoots and that ultimate display? Is that vest as bad as all that?
I'll say "no"...if one chose to leave it as is and find the right pose, it would look just fine on display. As it is, I did remove it and trim the back clear piece as well as pull it tighter around the body...just a degree above the usual "futz" as far as I'm concerned...no big deal.

When I look at clips from ESB or any number of reference shots from the film and then look at this figure in front of me, I see an extremely well-rendered representation of the character in sixth-scale.

Right now, I'm looking at Fett is standing next to Sideshow's equally superb IG-88 figure and they look awesome together...and my thought is..."Where's Bossk?"

Great job, Sideshow! Thanks for finally producing this much-wanted character for my collection....Fett looks great!

I've got a Vader, Storm Trooper, and Fett that I really dig from SSC. Considering that their human figures don't generally do it for me, my main 1/6 scale Star Wars wants from SSC are gonna be the Droids and, possibly, Chewy. Nice to finally get this guy.

Great shot, Flosi!

So what method on the cutting? Did you cut away most of the plastic backing or did you cut along the lines that match with the outside armor.

Excited that you're excited. Makes my wait a little more painful though. :)

Can't wait for those outdoor shots!

Ok after reading this thread and way earlier I canceled my EX Boba because of the price for a stupid base. Then a couple of months go by and I see picks of Boba Fett on the "stupid" EX base and long story short my newly reordered EX Boba Fett will be here in a week or so :slap guess the look of the EX base grew on me and I began to like it. Will end up using the bespin base for my custom Boush.

Don't know how SSC does it but some how they drag me back to order.
