None of the hard core collectors seem to want the the male characters. Probably because It's mostly a market aimed at young males.

I think when It comes to Buffy they're only interested in the female ones, as long as they're wearing short skirts of course. :

Ouch. But you have to admit, the human face alone isn't enough. It's okay for some people. But for a lot of collectors, he needs the vampire face.

The human face would have been more then okay If It hadn't looked like DB on a bad day, but as It was the face wasn't that fair a representation of Angel, especially as they stuck him in that weird outfit that was from the season one promo shots. He never even wore that on screen for heavens sake. :

Now If he'd been a younger looking sculpt and had given him his iconic long black coat then It might have been a different matter entirely.

I'd love an Angel version with black coat with red satin lining as an extra.

It was shipping from Canada with no original packing or box. People might have been afraid to get a broken statue. Also shipping can get pretty pricey the bigger the box is . . .

I actually won it. I bidded $105 I think 2 hours before it ended and went to bed. This morning got surprise that I won.

Am also glad I'm getting it from a fellow Canadian...so now I'm just missing Spike.....

Nice win , that rarely happens on items where you can walk away 2 hours before the end of the auction and come back to see that you won.

It had no box and the international shipping from Canada was unspecified. With a heavy, fragile piece those two things scared a lot off people away I'm sure.

thanks guys! Yeah, it didn't have a box, but I think the angel statue isn't as fragile as the buffy one...plus the seller has a really impressive feedback. I'll try to post pictures I guess when I get it in a couple of days....

I thnk it's still a great deal, Erik. Box or not, that's a great price. The Buffy PF (regular) without a box went for $356 + shipping and that's by far more fragile. I didn't notice that no box was included with Angel, but I still think that's a good deal. After all it didn't prevent people from bidding on the Buffy piece.

Sadly it can be cheaper to send parcels by U.S. mail to Canada than across Canada.

I was going to mail something I sold on eBay to someone in Ontario from Vancouver, where I was headed anyway, and it was $6-7 cheaper to send it by U.S. mail!

I was thinking about selling my Angel PF but given the price, I'm not so sure. I really didn't want to part with it but I really need the cash right now. So if he going for that low a price, I'll keep him.

However mine is the exclusive with the Vamp face and it's signed by Oluf. I wonder if I'd get more for mine?

Yeah, I know just where to put him, here's my current set up...

I'm thinking of putting Angel on where the Throne of slayer is....and thinking of putting the throne of slayer on top.

QUESTION, do you think the detolf would be strong enough to hold the throne? I'm thinking of just taking out the base, and just displaying buffy and the chair alone......

and yes, canadapost is ridiculously expensive for some reason. Sometimes its even more expensive to ship within Canada than to Asia!

It was a great deal! That box goes into storage and you don't take it out to browse at it. You really only need it if you move a bunch, or plan to move again. Or if you are a freak like some of us and really MUST have it.

Ontario to Vancouver is very far. It's even less of a flight from those places to let's say..me in Texas. So it makes sense that it costs more as it goes over water. Not that you're not already aware of that.

Detofs can hold a lot of weight on the very top where the wood is. I used to put PF's up there all the time. Then we got the expedit and besta. But right now I have the Lara Croft Snow Day statue on the top of one of mine. So Buffy will be no problem at all. Nice collection though!!!

It will hold her. I (and many other members) have put or continue to put their PF's on the glass. So your Throne will be okay. But promises cannot be made. I've heard of some people's go smash o crash. So, just keep that in mind. But like I said, I have had PF's on the glass and they were fine. Just depends how 'long term' you want it to be there for. You will also need to either remove a shelf, or remove her base to fit her.

Yeah, mine were in glass detolfs for years and no issues. I was always worried at first, but no issues thankfully. Have them displayed in Bestas now.

I think you would definitely get more, especially if you have the box and can provide a shipping cost upfront. I know I was interested vaguely in the one that just sold and would definitely pay a premium for the extra head.

eBay can be funny about prices too. Next week a regular edition might fetch $275, you just never know.
