Here's a solid piece of advice: Don't over think things. Girls you're star-struck for can completely gum up your works, turning you into an akward, way-too-agreeable zombie. You can be your own worst enemy. Project confidence to lure attraction and provide challenge to maintain it. If thing's don't come together pretty naturally and easily; the ones that are into you will subconsciously make things easier, try another girl and save yourself the hassle.
For understanding when it's socially acceptable to date someone younger then you, follow this rule: 1/2 your age + 7. If she's under that magic number, back away from the cradle.
So you being 16, could feasibly date a 15 year old without it being frowned upon.
