There are sites around that have it available for viewing. The problem for US fans of the UK Life on Mars is that there's been no DVD release for our region. Trust me if there were, I'd have it because the series is outstanding. And if they end it the way the UK version ends, there is no bringing it back. Then again, there's always Ashes to Ashes to "adapt".

i may just have to order them from amazon.co.uk, burn it to region free, and then play it on my dvd player...

Too much work for me, I'll just watch them online. :lol It's sad though there will never be an HD release. I read that if they were to put Life on Mars on Blu, they would need to redo ALL the effects.

I wish there was a way to nationally broadcast something that made people feel realllllly stupid for not watching/understanding good shows like Life on Mars. If there is one thing stupid people HATE...its being made to feel stupid.

I swear commercials would work SOO much better if all companies had the tagline:

"Buy this or you're stupid".

The general American response of course:

"HA, I'll show THAT company...consider your product BOUGHT by this intelligent con...consu......guy that buys things!"

the UK version of Life on Mars is available on Bluray.

Interesting. Maybe I was reading something else then and got my wires crossed. Havent been sleeping much lately so it's entirely possible. Either way, the US deserves a release of the series already.

I just read that ratings for last night's episode jumped 24%. :duh

If only television companies would have the sense to revive a show if the ratings were going up. OR give a show a chance to gather a following before cancelling it!

The UK version was much better in my opinion. I look forward to the sequel 'Ashes to Ashes' as it looks damn good.

So happy I have BBC America here.

I think the best news from that story is the UK series is coming to DVD, and I hope Blu as well, for our region. Wonder how this show is gonna end though, because they have a lot to compress into not that many episodes if they want it to go out like the UK series.

TV Guide said they will wrap the series up and answer why he flashed back to the past. At least they're doing this. Most of the time they just cancel shows and leave everyone hanging. And the ending won't be the same as the UK show.

You can import the UK Blu-rays and they'll play fine (no region coding). Mind you, they're only HD ports of the SD transfers, but that still gives you an extra 100 lines of resolution vs an NTSC conversion. Also, the extras won't play as they're true SD rather than HD ports.

Really hope that isnt true because the ending of the UK show is part of the brilliance of the show.. AND makes Ashes to Ashes possible. But I doubt they'd go after that show anyway.

Well, I'm pretty disappointed Life on Mars is over. And I'm a little torn over the ending. I'm glad they gave us an actual ending to the show, but I have to wonder if this is how the writers actually wanted it to go. I think if given time, it would have unfolded a lot differently. And there were still a lot of loose ends.

And it seems like ABC really went cheap with the set for the last scene. It almost looks like it was actually filmed in the 70s. I guess they didn't want to put any more money into the show than they had to.

The ending certainly wasn't what I was expecting, but it had to be some variation of that - there was too much weirdness going on for their to be a realistic explanation. And the whole Maya thing was just dropped by the wayside.
