Ha, and now if anything he's a tad too short. Guess we're never satisfied.
lol yup! And that's also why Batfleck looks a little squatty too b/c he needed to be in line with Superman's height. But, when ppl started adding in the longer ankle pegs on Batfleck, it really helped the overall proportions. The Batfleck body is an interesting amalgamation of parts: unique arms and legs but pelvis from the T800 body and torso from MOS without the rubber chest piece

Also, is it as simple as searching amazon or some other marketplace for "chrome vinyl tape" to achieve the results you did with modding your superman body? I've tried a couple chrome paints before, but I can never get it quite right, so the tape method sounds like a great alternative

I wasn't informed. Can I get some money out of this?

Happy to share. Here's a look at the modified body (minus the shaving down of the outside thighs and inner wrists). Lots of tamiya miliput and time. Getting the symmetry correct was the most time consuming part. I have another Supes that somebody else modified using 3D printed parts, which make the symmetry a non issue on theirs. I had to go the old school way, and do it by hand. So below you can see the lats were shaved down to allow the arms to sit more flush to the torso, the shoulders rounded out, the chest dramatically built out, the triceps and biceps reworked, the lower most abs and obliques grown, the groin built out, and the foam from the lats shave down. Then I rechromed the parts, and added black acrylic paint where necessary to match original contouring. After this I had shaved down the inner wrists and shaved down the outside upper thigh pieces for a smoother transition.

Thank you for sharing and explaining what you did.

Finally got around to painting my Justice League Superman figure. Extensive body mods were done to get the improved Cavil physique. Then I did some really light shading to bring out the muscular chrome undersuit. Custom cape as well. Here's some shots with both HT's sculpt and OSK's sculpt.

:clap

Here's hoping InArt gets the body right to save us normal folks from having to go through all those mods
Im hoping for a much improved headsculpt. Neither HT’s nor the OSK heads really do it for me. Of course he has a much different look between BVS and JL, so I guess there’s no across the board answer. If I had to choose, I’d want a killer BVS sculpt, which is what I think we’re getting

I want a BvS Batman next from InArt because for my taste that’s the peak look for the character that’s been achieved thus far.

But it’d be cool if they also can figure out how to make the standard ZSJL Batsuit work out well for an action figure as well at some point. (Basically same suit in the theater release but ZSJL uses so much better lighting and color grading.) It actually looks fine in the movie, but the HT figure doesn’t do it justice. In the theater release at times Ben looks squeezed into it like a sausage casing, but that wasn’t the case to my eye for ZSJL.

In the tunnel scenes the cowl and suit have a bluish hue that actually kind of worked.

The Batman JL suit is the worst of the Snyderverse Hot Toys. I do think with the mods I've done to mine he looks much better to the point I'm happy with him now until something better comes along. As well as the lighting the reshoots did nothing for Ben in that suit.

I agree, and your mods do for sure improve him substantially. If InArt can pull off getting the look of the movie (ZSJL of course, versus JL) then that’d be cool to see. Because the suit looks pretty damn good, really. At least in the tunnel sequence. Even in ZSJL the Batsuit looking a smidge tight is apparent in the Hero’s Park fight against Superman though.

Yep, I had it and sold it straight away. Kept the BvS standard, Armoured, Tactical and Knightmare.

So lucky when I think about it that we have 4 amazing suits when a standard Batman film only gets essentially one.

Zack and the design team really went for the bleachers in being different and original.

Now we're getting BvS Superman I really think I'll get another Batman and Wonderwoman from InArt (surely they will do them as the discussion and positive interest is huge).

However that does mean that I would really love Hot Toys or JazzInc to do/redo the Justice League/BvS Batmobile. Would really love to have Supes on the bonnet of that thing staring down Batman.

Awesome !! Love it.

I guess they are a bit shaky standing like that permanently. But even having the team stand around it would be pretty impressive.

I know that everyone says in-hand the OSK sculpt looks better than the HT stock one, but in virtually every photograph I’ve seen of it, it frankly looks underwhelming and lacking in paint detail. For myself, I’d have to send it out to a pro to improve the paint. And for that total cost, especially now, I’d rather just wait on InArt. Plus I actually kind of like the HT stock sculpt tbh. Just from the photos I don’t get why people prefer OSK, I‘m not seeing it.

For me it’s just the sculpt. The OSK is more natural looking than the Hot Toys head, which has this odd pinched and puckered up expression. But this is subjective. I agree the paint is lackluster and needs touching up. Frankly, neither headsculpt really look great. BUT the OSK has the right hairstyle for a JL figure and a more neutral expression.

Yeah the HT sculpt is arguably a bit frowny that’s true. I prefer to think of him as somber and focused. To be fair… He is contending with Lois questioning how they can make their relationship work, having at times to make decisions that interfere with rogue CIA operations, a thoroughly corrupt US Senate in bed with a thoroughly corrupt military industrial complex, real tough questions about whether he should use his superpowers in a society founded (conceptually anyway) on democratic ideals, insipid infotainment “news” media, a fickle and easily divided and manipulated human society, a chad like Batman trying to kill him, Lex Luthor, and Doomsday after all. So he had a lot on his mind!

I think that the Hot Toys sculpt looks good but gives me more of a stylized version of Cavill.

The OSK sculpt, while not as detailed painted, captures Cavill better, particularly in the eyes area (plus the hair). I ended up using the OSK sculpt on my MoS figure.

By the way, I picked up a second OSK sculpt a while ago and noticed a difference in paint apps from the first OSK sculpt. It was a notch lower.

Out of curiosity, when comparing my two modded Superman figures, I notice the one I picked up off a fellow collector (on the right) has a slightly larger and wider S shield. I'm wondering if there's any chance there was a small production change in the JL Superman that might be responsible for this? I am pretty certain it's not a BvS suit, based on the overall base color and fabric thickness, etc. Plus, I stripped and repainted that S shield myself it had none of the telltale BvS black outlining the Hot Toys figure had. In the pic below I laid the shield from the left (in green) on the shield from the right and it's not my eyes playing tricks on me, the shield on the right is noticeably larger.
