I just hope they give the Clark Kent figure a shirt with buttons that allow it to be ripped open, with a Superman undersuit top underneath. Not a full suit, but so you can see it.
I would love to have it with magnets like the topo bank robber suit. That way, we dont need to worry abut buttons, snap ons, and other ugly looking things.

I know it will never happen and no one likely wants it, but I'd love to pair this with an InArt Hackman Luthor (removable hair of course).

At the time, I thought his comedic angle suited an Adam West style villain more than a Superman villain... so I'm shocked to find after all these years that he's still the best movie Luthor yet.
I loved Hackman’s Luthor and I feel like his characterization has aged like a fine wine. Rich dude willing to nuke California in a real estate scheme? I feel like I’d read about that in the New York Times.:lol Either way, I feel like, between the leisure suit and everything else, if not IA, I’d love to see him tackled in some obscenely expensive custom that I could never afford, just to know a high-end 1/6th figure of him exists. This Superman’s a weird one in the sense that there were so many elements in the movie that I feel like you could go in a whole boatload of directions when it comes to finding a piece or character to complement him.

I always feel like every franchise should have, at least, the yin/yang element. Bale has Ledger. Keaton has Nicholson. Obi-Wan has a Vader. Technically, the Clark figure already sort of serves that purpose, but if you want someone to display Supes with, I feel like you could easily go in the Brando Jor-El direction…and, weirdly enough, despite how beloved that first movie is, it almost feels like Terrence Stamp’s Zod from the sequel has sort of overshadowed Hackman’s Lex for a lot of people.

Yeah, he's got more of the traditional threat. Lex became an even bigger trickster type villain in the sequel.

But Hackman just stole every scene he was in in the first movie.

My lawyer will be in touch with you about the damage to the door.

*being tossed easily aside, and then when Supes opens the box* I told you.

We all have our little faults. Mine's in California.

The most sinister Lex was when he wasn't seen, just heard, at that super-high frequency with his narcissistic threats.

I still cackle when I think about the banter between he and Miss Tessmacher and Otis…and I still think back to how utterly terrified I was as a kid when he pushed that Police Detective onto the train tracks with his motorized wall. I always loved that Superman: The Movie did an amazing job of making us believe a man can fly, as the tagline says, and showing all of his amazing feats, and yet, his threat is an entirely cerebral one.

Also, just from a collecting stand-point, but I think that black plaid leisure suit with the yellow shirt and the ascot would make for a far more visually interesting figure than the black satin parachute pants and the dictator boots, IMO, but that’s just me.:lol

Ahh cool that they're making him. Will be interesting to see the reveal. If I remember correctly, JC Hong said years ago that he wanted to make another version that included Clark Kent but obviously that has never come to fruition. Gotta wonder if this will make HT all of sudden make another now 🤔

Aesthetically, it still holds up decently well for people who didn’t get oily abs. I do feel like, at this juncture, it’s a little half-assed and lazy on their part to have such a rigid (and inaccurate) construction when they’re constantly re-inventing the wheel and diving back in on, like, the Nolan stuff for instance. Especially when they made such a hullabaloo about a release like the TDKR armory where they went into detail in the pics with comparisons and notes on all they’ve changed and improved just from the DX 19 (which itself was improved from the DX 12). Meanwhile, they’re putting out a Keaton figure, at the same time in 2023, whose body, comparatively, is more akin to that of the DX 02 in terms of structure and poseability.
This is what I said in that thread as well but ppl said the rubber was better than trying to make the suit more accurate in it's construction :huh

We are a little off topic but it’s great to hear all the love for Hackman. I loved him since day 1, I don’t care how funny his performance is, as a kid watching that film I always found him sinister. A figure would be a gift.

“The greatest mind of our time”

Also, slightly more on-topic, but do we think IA offers rooted hair on Reeve? I feel like, looking at the results of Pattinson Bruce’s combover, Clark would be easily achievable, and it seems like Superman himself used a little less product and wasn’t as slick as Cavill when it comes to his hairstyle.
