John DiMaggio is working out a deal to return as Bender but they said they will recast if they can’t get him. If they recast Bender the show is a flop.Awesome news!

I think THR reported that they are still “finalizing a contract” with him, so I am hopeful they’ll work something out soon.
Obviously, incredibly excited that Futurama will be back! One of my favorite convention memories was getting autographs from Billy West, John DiMaggio, and Phil Lamar years ago—they were so fun to talk to and were eager to break out into their character voices without even asking. DiMaggio started yelling at me as Bender so loud that it kinda hurt my ears lol.

After reading more tweets it appears like Hulu aren't willing to pay John DiMaggios rate, so that seems to be the problem. They should just pay the guy, they'll make way less money if they change the voice actor for arguably the most iconic character from the show.
Yeah looks like he has been doing lots of retweeting on his account. Apparently they sent out casting notices a couple weeks ago and someone mentioned that they did the same thing back when they were bringing it back for Comedy Central, specifically to try and replace Phil Lamar. Here’s hoping it will get worked out. Apparently they have their first table read on Monday. He’s really been the most prolific voice actor of the whole cast over the last 10 years since the show ended, so I think he’s well in his right to ask for appropriate compensation.

Probably wont watch it if they don’t get DiMaggio back. My friend who is a huge Futurama fan said the same thing.

Lol so he wants to be paid better than everyone else, who have already signed on. Talk about greed! They'll just recast and find someone who can put on the same kind of voice.

I've read multiple articles about the story. He thinks voice over actors should be paid more, the rest of the cast have already signed on, but he isn't happy with the pay. Yes, he wants to be paid more than the rest of the cast because they have already accepted the current pay.

I've only watched the first episode so far. Seemed OK but I haven't felt much desire to watch anymore.
