Mine has finally arrived today from TW after ordering last August. I don't mind the wait given that it was a pretty huge discount, but would have preferred if it was clear when it was likely to ship from the start, rather than having the expected date changed every month (without any updates).

Anyway, love the figure and the bike. Back in the mid-90s the POTF2 scout and bike was my third ever figure (bought from a Woolworths while on holiday) so having a high-end sixth scale version is like a dream come true.

It took about 15 - 20 minutes to assemble and set up. Funnily enough the part that gave me the most grief was the tube on the scout's belt which kept popping off.

You can get a pretty decent pose on the bike straight out of the box with no mods. I think he's definitely going to stay on there, so will probably have to pick up a single scout too!

Even without the mods you can crouch him a bit more if careful enough:

So I just received my “new” Scout Trooper from Sideshow… never had a figure from them show up without shipper and plastic. I have heard stories of them possibly sending people used figures and when I opened him up the plastic around the stand was already split in 2… this was clearly opened.

Sorry to hear that.

Felt like they stopped doing that after enough complaints but it seems to have started up again.

They make excuses and say the figure is still new but there's been evidence it's been tampered with. It happened to me once and I wasn't happy. I returned it.

You should do the same and make sure you politely but firmly complain that it's not acceptable for them to do that.

I sent them a claim, figure appears ok but it still feels really odd to me. Especially for what you pay for these figures.

Exactly. It's not acceptable. Figures with issues like that should be on Sideshow Seconds only.

They might come back with an excuse about the shipper not being part of the product. But last I checked, their TOS says that the condition of the shipper, art box, and packaging is not guaranteed but nothing about a statue or figure possibly not coming without any of those.

Even if in the best case the shipper box was damaged, the precedent they've set is that a brand new US retail spec figure is sealed in shipper. I know some regions don't come with a shipper so it's not a big deal to everyone, but the US distributor going against our market's set standards and sending a figure without the shipper makes it suspect. It's an opened product at that point.

I have received solid cases of US spec Hot Toys figures and they're all sealed in shipper in the case. They just have to pull it out and slap a label on it. To do otherwise is a disservice to a customer paying good money for a brand new and sealed figure.

They need to stop doing this again because it just erodes trust. This is one of the reasons I switched to buying mostly from US authorized retailers.

I got my snowspeeder luke this way and it had all the seals torn and plastic ripped by someone, when I told them about it all they admited to me that they "sometimes open the package to inspect the figure"

One of my Jango Fetts came like that too and this one I'm positive was a return because he had full on chip in the plastic of his helmet and his left arm fabric was torn, funny thing is I didn't even notice the fabric issue and only requested the helmet replacement and they argued saying it's a "Paint variation" with the copy paste emails when it was literally CHIPPED, I ended up packaging the figure up to return because they didn't want to give me the helmet and that's when I noticed the fabric was ripped.

Sideshow support is very over rated and yes I did have good experiences with them as well but just this year for me was awful.

I wasn’t sure at first if it was opened until I saw this… and figured there’s no way that would split by itself.

Like I said the figure seems fine but what if I’m missing something? We shall see what they say.

It's the principle. You paid for a brand new figure, you should have a brand new figure.

The person who handled the figure tore that plastic like a feral creature. You don't know what they did to the rest of the figure.

Hope they make it right for you.

I personally wouldn’t have a problem with an ‘opened’ figure if it was advertised as such and priced as such. Even if it’s fine, it’s not the new, sealed figure paid for. They shouldn’t sell it as such. I mean I think Sideshow Seconds is a great idea but this figure should have come from there by the looks of it.

Was told some figures ship from Hot Toys without shipper and or the shippers are damaged and replaced by such boxes… was told “no doubt it’s a brand new figure.”

Same excuses as before, which yeah could understandably happen. The latter more so at least; not really the former if it's US spec cases.

But no way is this figure in particular a brand new one from that plastic. Did they ignore that?

Yeah they ignored that and closed the ticket. I think I’ll move to Alter Ego. In this case the figure seems fine and no loose joints or anything but it was seriously kinda crappy how they treated the situation especially since I have ordered so many times from them and have 11 pre orders as well.
