The rooted deluxe will hold its value as long as another company doesn’t outperform. Look at the dx11 sat for 7-8 hundred for years on the aftermarket regardless of customs. The average consumer isn’t reaching out to get commission work or joining a clothing run.
Where did you see these prices? I could only find a dx11 for $1k+ new

Plus, it's an officially licensed figure. That goes for the HT one too. The DX 11 still has the laughing sculpt and Interrogation room diorama, so that helps make it appealing to some people.

I am glad these InArt figures are just not doing it for me, to be honest.

The prices are just not justified here. Some will disagree, and that's ok... but I thought the
"event" looked like a complete joke and Queen Studios as a company is taking a tumble down my respect level.

I own a couple of their statues but can't support ($800 - $1,000) basic 1/6 scale figures.
Sorry, have to draw the line somewhere and the "innovations" they are touting are just not equal to a 200% + price hike
from Hot Toys figures of the exact same characters.

The public perspective that is eating up the "FIRE" that InArt is bringing are the same people who
have been hating hard on Hot Toys for the last couple years and are just looking for someone to replace and take them out.

Again, that's all fine well and good... but in the end, money talks and I for one don't have an infinite amount to spend on a hobby.

Gary, you know you have a little problem, don't you?

:lol

Hahaha, just joking. But it's funny that something like this could actually be plausible in our collecting world.

I did however spend £200 on the lint that he has in his pockets that comes from the very trousers that he wore on film scaled down to 1/6 lint!

You guys remember the collector who spent what? A couple grand on these custom stripedbox Joker gloves?
I dont judge the person who pays. But the people that charge that much like this person for a pair of hands must have a pretentious superiority complex. Somebody tell them they are not picasso 😂

Idk why people keep calling them $800-$1000 figures....they're only $1000 if you decide to pay for the best package. That comes with a ton of accessories and 2 figures. Not talking about you specifically but a lot of people have ran with this pricing narrative while ignoring the entire context that the figures are actually not $1000

I agree that the company is a mess and that they should have made a single rooted option but for what you get in the deluxe the price is definitely justified. The innovation is there 100%

Same thing happened with The Batman figure.

Everyone calling it the $1000 Batman figure as a criticism for it's quality to price ratio when Inart is offering the base Batman figure for $390. Very bizarre.

I still wouldn't call it innovation. Customs have been doing the magnetic attachments for a while. I think what they've added is a degree of better sculpting, painting and option for rooted hair.

I don't see anything that they've innovated on personally. I'd imagine tailoring potentially could be better also just because production companies manufacturing 1/6 clothing generally is pretty good, so I imagine the higher price tag accounts for this also, I just think Hot Toys purposefully chooses to cheap on their tailoring.

But good on Inart for paving the next stepping stone. But I won't credit them for anything innovative. Maybe being bold enough to be the one's to do it.

Edit: But agian, I personally need to see in hand production to see if they've got the finesse down also. As much criticism that can be levied at Hot Toys they come out put together extremely well and with a presence. They just seemingly don't have the upgraded quality that Inart potentially will be providing. But for me, upgraded quality without the finesse, ehhh. We'll see.

Of course if you compare it to customs its not innovation but we are talking about mass production here

This level of rooted hair on a mass piece is unprecedented. And the joints and the material etc is not something we see a lot

Exactly. It's a big InArt narrative, but really there is only an $80 difference between that and the HT's offering.

I don't want to split hairs, but again, nothing they're providing is new. Hot Toys in the beginning used real die cast, third party companies have used metal, magnets attached to plastic isn't new in the 1/6 world let alone toy would outside of customs.

The rooted hair, there's a lot of artists that can be hired that can achieve the results just the same that they can with better painting techniques, the problem was never the skill set as opposed to the time and extra money to make it happen.

But yeah, again for the 1/6 market they're definitely showing a better way, but just a higher quality way of which the price point we're paying is reflective. But you look at what you're paying for a Hot Toy and that little bit more potentially for Inart with more authentic materials is definitely a good option to have.

How are people buying 10 of these iron man repaints but say there is no value for what you get in the deluxe?

For all I care those same people would probably drop nearly 2K for a super outdated figure in the DX11 aftermarket so...who knows how..
