Looks great and I'm looking forward to getting it but can't help be a little disappointed that he looks so angry! To be fair, he was moonlighting as Jack the Ripper around the same time so...

However, at least it looks like Ian Holm unlike that recent Weta statue...yikes.

It is a good sculpt but yeah too moody looking.

Not a character I need, want or care about anyway.

Still excited to get this figure, but just wished so much the other head option had a more gentler smiling face. Remaining hopeful they will do the Bag End diorama piece at some point.
It's a wonderful sculpt but by the Valar, that is one angry face. o_O

Looks great but why would I want to display a pissed off looking hobbit? Who thought this was a good idea? The alternative head sculpt is also too creepy to display. Also speaking of display, does this even come with a display base?

Yeah, much as I like ASMUS this is a strange choice IMO. I could see Dwalin being sculpted like this and I'd be happy to have him - because it's Dwalin. Or maybe Boromir in certain scenes. Gollum. WTF.

As I've said previously ... I can totally see Ian Holm, but I'm not seeing Bilbo.

Still happy to pick up the figure. I just wish he wasn't so furious. He doesn't have to be jolly. I could see doing a Bilbo whose expression was maybe a little troubled, scared or even furtive, but furious just feels out of character.

All that said, the work on that outfit is TOP SHELF. Gorgeous.

Yeah, not sure why he looks so stern, but I’m still keeping my pre-order.
Maybe they saw WETA's rather gentle Bilbo study - which is what I imagine Bilbo looking like - and decided to go for something different.

If that is true, I wish ASMUS wouldn't worry about what WETA is doing. Or not doing. IMO even if I display them together a figure and a statue are completely different things, but I do expect the character to have a more or less typical expression. Besides WETA stuff is out of the question for many, budget-wise.

Excellent likeness. Have Bilbo on preorder and can't wait to get it. I am fine with the expression and I most likely prefer it over a happy or smiling one.

Great likeness, turned out looking good - just a shame he looks so annoyed, but even so I am still looking forward to getting him. The outfit looks excellent too.
LOL this made me laugh - maybe it's the Sackville-Bagginses again. Tho I think ASMUS got this expression from Bilbo getting angry about letting the One Ring go.

Damn that sculpt makes him look straight evil. Should have included an alternative sculpt where he looks more bubbly and cheery.

Everything else looks great though. Tailoring on the outfit looks nice and sharp.

Old Bilbo’s giving the Proudfoots a run for their money with that scowl.

An admittedly great looking sculpt nonetheless.
Im still sad about the lack of a Birthday-speech barrel base.

this gaze reminds me of when he is more focused on the ring/ feeling for it in his pocket. Almost like a very strong concentration. The likeness is fantastic though! As is the clothing!

the birthday barrel would have been a cool accessory too!

The ring is still in your pocket, and time to go...

looks good enough to me!
(By the way "birthday" barrels can be found at most model train stores.)
