So now that most of us have calmed down from the PO hype...I wanna say something:

IF HT were to in a totally not in reaction to QS /IA’s joker, all of a sudden reveal their super turbo new challengers deluxe premium 2 complete figures with a THIRD portrait and rooted hair joker, priced at $750 and ACTUALLY looks decent...I’m still sticking with QS.

Why? Because it’s out of principle. Them releasing another joker in response to QS version will be one of the most disingenuous moves. If their ver outsold QS, HT will eventually just go back to their insufferable ways.

Don’t let us down QS/IA.
Listen. This is not the fanboy in me. Hot toys can not match this quality if they tried. The use of the authentic material and the rooted hair exceeds theyre skill set. But what they lack the most is theyre heart is not in the game like it clearly is for queen.

So, does anybody think Hot Toys got wind of the QS Delorean and that's why they've finally decided to release theirs? May suggest a Hot Toys Joker *isn't* coming if it wasn't also rushed out to get ahead of them.
even then the queen delorean is still the ovious choice for bttf fans

Hot Toys has too many figures in their production backlog to start pissing contests with a company aiming to release their figure within the same year it went up for pre-order.
no thats alright. They can just delay loki again. The one that was due summer last year.

I feel like HT has been phoning in some releases for a while now. There are some stand outs like the recent Boba Fett 2 pack but others have just been meh. Partly source material but also not a desire to do them the best way possible. Pattinson Batman seems like a step in the right direction but that may be a result of QS also having the rights to do one. The competition between the two companies will benefit us with better figures in the end.

I’m quiet please with Asmus’ work on the Crown Gandalf so I don’t see myself forking out another $500 or so for another version at this point. I’m curious if this first figure doing so well will give QS a false sense of popularity. The Joker is special and this particular version especially. Few other figures will sell this well for this price. Hopefully they are in tune enough to realize that.

I adore Asmus’ Gandalf, but I will admit that it’s one of those figures that NEEDS proper lighting and lens to make it look good. I’m definitely curious and interested in QA/IA’s take on the figure.

ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY they announced it because QS are working on a delorean too.

This is what I meant about HT always doing $#it like this.

Always keep in mind from now on.

ANYTIME HT does something with a property they could’ve done a LONG time ago...know that there’s something else on the horizon.

its hopeless

Whoa wait a minute...I got the impression you were either gonna get this or already HAVE POd...

Whats holding you back man?! I mean aside from it being SOLD OUTSORRYWORGAR...
Well the big reason is I dont want to spend over $1000 on the rooted double pack, I don't have space for the heavy metal base and I don't care for the smirking head with shorter hair, I'm definitely tempted as hell to put in a pre-order for the standard version to get that easter egg but a little voice in the back of my head says "what if Hot Toys announces a Joker with an actual good sculpt this time, beautiful detailed hair, more accessories and a space friendly base?" Now I know it sounds silly as hell, but Queen is getting started in 1/6, and they're making huge promises, me knowing so much that goes in the industry I'm a little skeptical, they're not saying they will match the proto they're saying they will exceed it and that rarely happens, especially for newcomers.

I hate the hot toys battinson. Looks like an action figure (you know what I mean). Wait and see. Queen is about to school them with theyre own battinson.

Yup. The only reason they dug up the Arkham license was due to Prime1 making bank on their 1/3rd scale statues. It was dormant for years before then.

Enterbay.
They ended up making NBA figures and characters from Chinese movies.

Yes, I am so relieved with this confirmation! (y)
Does anyone know exactly why Enterbay loss to Hot Toys? I'm pretty new to this hobby but was looking at Enterbay past archive of work and it looks like they made some really great stuff back in the days. How did they ended up where they are now?

I do get the concern. I just committed to TWO effin POs of the deluxe.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. It’s a big risk I and many others are taking. Just like how you’re taking a risk and waiting to see what HT will cook up.

But...the optimistic side of me is telling me we’re in good hands.

I'm not being a fanboy here but this is not true, Hot Toys absolutely can... if they try, problem is they've gotten comfortable where they're at and I think they might just cut their losses and let Queen win this one while they keep making money off Disney without breaking a sweat.

The thing also is, all these companies use the same factories, you'd be amazed at how much stuff Hot Toys produces in the same factories as third parties, often a great product can come directly from the same factory where a ****** one was made, it's really up to the people in charge, I've high hopes for Queen, their heart is obviously in the game but part me is skeptical they can deliver on everything they promised, and an even smaller part of me hopes that somehow they give us a limtied standard rooted Joker but I doubt it, $1000 is to high for me to commit without seeing their final 1/6 product, so I'm willing to wait a bit to see what happens.
