Finally got mine open. It's a decent figure with a couple annoyances. The body they used is good and the hands with real wraps are nice. The robes are thin which is both good and bad. I hope the pleather pouches hold up long term.

I don't remember anyone mentioning how cheap the weapons and binoculars feel when you handle them. They look decent visually but it's very light hollow cheapy feeling plastic. And lastly the damn boots. Why are these not split cut for ankle articulation, the design is perfect to hide the cut. These are like cinder blocks on his feet, just lazy and annoying.
You make some valid observations. The weapons and binocs are very light to the hold and touch. Perhaps the lighter material handles the printing process used for the fine detailing or maybe the engineers figured lighter accessories would put less stress on the figure when utilizing them. Or...maybe it's just cheaper. The material choice certainly isn't detracting from the appearance...they look great. My only concern with them is they seem more delicate and fragile so handling them just requires even more care. They all look really good.

The fabric choices look better in hand. Not perfect, but they drape and futz well enough. The hand wraps look really good and the arm wraps slide around well enough to effectively "blend" them with the hands perfectly.

The head is really well detailed and painted to excellent effect. This is one instance where the so-called "fat suit" is actually successful in bulking up the body to look good. But then we get down to the feet....and it's a face-palm WTF moment on the figure. After all of the great work rendering the costume and accessories, the effort is almost sunk by these cheesy, clunky and stiff looking boots. How did this slip by? A character that lends itself to such dynamic opportunities for posing is sabotaged by club feet. It's one of the more bizarre choices HT made here. Maybe they are correct in how they appear on the Tuskens in "The Mandalorian", but at the very least, a split-ankle design would have literally opened up the posing options. It doesn't kill the figure, but it is an odd misstep.
This is one of those figures that had some divisiveness with the prototype (seems like EVERYTHING with SW these days manages to generate some level of controversy) and I found myself a little torn by what we were seeing. It reminded me of HT's attempt with the Jawas, which to me, wasn't an entirely successful figure and I was hoping this Tatooine denizen wouldn't end up with the same result. i'm happy to say that for me, despite some minor issues, this figure looks great and came out well.

I may pick up another one down the line and do little customizing of my own. As many shots showing up in this thread show, it lends itself well to that and has the foundation to be a really cool figure.

Having a great time with this figure!

Twilight dance....

I'm guessing not too many folks has received or picked up this one yet...or as often happens with releases these days, I'm really late to the party. Thought there would be more activity with this figure. It's actually really good!

Yeah I’m quite surprised more aren’t on board with it. I absolutely love mine and was actually one of my favorite releases of last year

Ha! Hadn't noticed til you mentioned it. Jeez, HT really fell flat-footed on this one. Odd considering how well the rest of the figure is rendered.
Great shots McHaley!

Another shot of mine...

I saw someone post that the head spikes had been repositioned to be less symmetrical, which sounded fine...but I didn't realize they'd just molded over the spots where they were supposed to push the wrappings aside, and drilled random holes straight through the sculpt instead. It looks fine from more than a few inches away, but what an odd choice.

Also, these hands aren't actually included, which makes holding the binoculars a little awkward.

I still like this guy a lot, but some problems there.

The boots aren't quite as bad as I was expecting, just because they're short and loose enough that you can achieve some ankle tilts with the robes hiding any weirdness.

I'm starting to wonder if the change to the head spikes wasn't a deliberate design thing, so much as the factory not being able to pull it off as intended and just kludging a workaround solution. Looking at the original photos, it seems like they would have had to attach the spikes to an interior core and then lay the wrappings over them as a thin layer of soft plastic to make the poke-through effect work. Might have been too hard or expensive to achieve. Unfortunately, the result is not the best compromise.

This figure is not bad by any strech of the imagination and is essentiall to every star wars collection. But its clear it wasnt a figure hot toys was exited about. Its a lazy and rushed job. The chunky boots - the robes - lack of hands - undersize melon - drill job on the head. We were this close to greatness

Not to mention the cheaper and cheaper plastic used to make their bodies. I managed yesterday to snap off the left hand wrist peg (inside the damn arm) just trying to tilt his left hand a bit, with no way to get that peg out. Ended up ordering a naked body and new left hand off Toy Anxiety to correct the issue. Really frustrating working with some of these things.

Ive seen a suspiciusly high number of people break the hands on this figure. Luckily there are new big players entering 1/6 so either hot toys stop playing around or they in trouble

I got theyre jawa release recently and that one is in many ways a disaster. They take every shortcut they could on that one

Left hand peg broke right away on mine. I was able to dig it out with a hairdryer and eyeglass screwdriver.
