I'm hoping someone like Justin Collection in YT to did a proper review with the good lighting and clarity videos and also a right lens so no distortion whatsoever to judge this one fairly (besides the Henrietta hair or scar issues).

I remember there was a time where threads about unlicensed or third party figures were frowned upon and either deleted or closed, which is why generally you'd continue a conversation in a related licensed thread. Lol

Anyways, I don't know if the user is here but this was in one of the FB groups and is about the only decent shot I've seen.
I see the open fly remains consistent.

Yep, curious about how this looks under "right light" and no "lense distorsion"... Cmon man.
Theres already you tube videos, this figure is a mess, not even justin optimism can save this

Justin a proper review 🤣🤣 You must be joking right?

He doesn't review figures, he sells them on behalf of Toys wonderland and Comic Sanctorum. He never criticizes figures otherwise people won't buy them and it will affect his sales in the description affiliate link.

Just look at Justin as something similar to QVC the shopping channel!

Of all the one sixth companies out there I honestly think Blitzway would knock it out of the park. I had their Ghostbusters and they were fantastic.
Not going by recent figures, Hendrix did have an issue with the final paint on the headsculpt but the biggest disaster were the Bill and Ted figures. Split arms and Ted looked more like the kid out of Stranger things or Adam Driver than Keanu Reeves 🤮

Actually he criticized the recent Proxima Midnight figure.

I don’t think pictures in a light box are going to magically make this thing look how we all wish it turned out so a ‘proper’ review will likely just expose all the issues we can already plainly see- just in HD.

The SSC version may not be as accurate but by golly does it have a ton more presence and character. Even as a supposed caricature, to my eyes, it’s more recognisable as Ash and actually looks heroic and like it displays well.

Literally nobody has posed him well so far, so i'll wait to get mine to make up my mind on which is better. But SSC Ash looks like a guy cosplaying as Ash, not Bruce Campbell

despite the hairless Henrietta issues, I still think overall based on this picture alone, Asmus one is more accurate Ash than SS. The right blue tone of the shirt, (they both have the same big collar anyway), also the dirt they did on the shirt is better and the dirt on the hands too.
I think that's just the lighting in the photo. The shirt on SS Ash is far more accurate. The collar is proportionate, better fraying of the fabric, and tailoring overall on SS Ash are all quite good. SS even got the harness correct. Only one strap is supposed to be leather, and the rest is webbing, and SS actually paid attention to this. The quality of the clothing on Asmus Ash look like something you'd find on a 1/6 figure from 15-20 years ago.

SS has a great head sculpt and likeness to BC, while Asmus is a bit more stylized in appearance. Neither figure has captured the eyes correctly though. SS Ash's irises are too large, and Asmus Ash is cockeyed from the close-ups I've seen so far.

Odd.

Just when I thought this thread reached an end, more revelations occur about the obvious. It comes off a bit anti-climatic.

Silence from the brand. Fewer, defensive posts/replies about the figure and the brand by those who were very vocal during the height of the discussion. More confirmation of cancellations by those who were on the fence or undecided.

If Asmus were more transparent and honest about their business practices, escalation would be unnecessary. In fact, they've shown themselves to be down right duplicitous on this issue, and you're calling the innocent consumer toxic? Lol.

It could be worse.

Some could blame the very collectors/customers for the dismal offering. The argument (however flawed and preposterous) will be made we collectors/customers brought it upon ourselves and the brand is not to blame regardless of well documented, known, and proven past instances by the brand and all criticisms by the brand's defenders are justified.

Who would have thought?

Real world "woke"-ism being applied to the 1:6 hobby.

A pose aint gonna save this thing. lol
Save what? The only major problem i have is with Henrietta. The rest looks good. As good as the SSC version.
Well asmus ash looks like a guy with a plastic torso that never saw evil dead, cosplaying as a cosplayer of ash...
No, it looks more like Bruce Campbell. And i don't see a big difference between torsos, other than no blood on Asmus version. But i'll do that myself.

Have to agree with this. I originally thought the reduced paint application on Asmus Ash made him more recognizable than the prototype, but the more I see in-hand images, the less it looks like him. At this point, it really looks nothing like him to me. The expression on the SSC version has so much more animation and life to it because of the focused iris direction and the more furrowed brow, as if the artist had more of an understanding of the context of the expression and didn't just put it in there for the sake of it. In that side by side picture of both figures, they've even posed Asmus Ash facing upwards because of the way the irises are placed upwards in that figure.

I really want that Sideshow version, haha.

There is a huge difference in the torso's and the bare arms for that matter. I personally think the SSC favors BC more but neither are perfect and likeness is going to fall more to your personal preference I guess. The clothing on the SSC version from what I can tell looks much better. I frankly even thought that from the promo shots before the release. I personally was picking this up ( the luxury version ) for the base and the Deadite head. I'd have put my SS Ash on the base and used the Asmus one as the Deadite version. After seeing the quality of the Asmus piece I've decided like so many others to cancel it. Kinda makes me sad because I was really looking forward to it.
