Yeah it’s all just licensing schematics i imagine. They probably always wanted to do a IT1 figure but by the time everything came to be they got IT2 licensing instead.

What I don't understand is, this figure is said to be pennywise from it chapter 2 but clearly The whole figure shows me that this is from chapter 1.

The sewer stand part 1
Georgie's boat part 1
The balloon and the severed arm part one.
So tell me what part of this figure is from chapter 2? 😂😂😂😂
Skateboard….. and Penny in the box.

Pretty sure QMx had the license but never released a figure for Chapter 1 so Hot Toys just got the sequel license.

It's been a long time since I looked it up, but there are slight differences in the Pennywise costume between the two movies. Not enough for me to care, however. Can't wait to get this!

The figure is an amalgamation of part 1 and 2.

The accessories are mostly from part 1 and so is the color of the costume. Part 1 is lighter.

The hair might be inspired by part 1 too, but then again, HT sucks when it comes to sculpting hair. It looks more stylized than film accurate, IMO.

The costume is different in part 2.

Chapter 1 is on the left and Chap 2 on the right

Differences

The third red ball is on the belt in Chapter 1
Belt sits much higher making his torso look shorter in part 1
The fluffy "skirt" is higher, and his thighs are more visible in chapter 1
The bell bottoms are higher in chapter 1, so the boots are more visible

He's got a different silhouette in chapter 2, less fluffy too. The costume is darker too in chapter 2.

You can't really tell when you watch the films tho. In motion he looks more or less the same.

Excellent side by side…
I am gonna call BS on the IT chapter 2 changes….That clown would need to retain the “floods” look on his pants….he lives in a sewer after all….

Joking aside. the Chapter one look is way batter, more creepy and weird….may have to futz to get closer to that one size too small look.

Definitely needs weathering…..looks like they moght have skipped that, as the promo shots show very clear weathering ….

This thing is phenomenal. Hot toys have definitely upped their game here-these photos do not do this justice. Every part of this figure is perfect, the headsculpts-tailoring-accessories-display base. All absolutely amazing.
you can see that hot toys have been influenced by queen studios and the like with the display base & it works. This looks like a piece that should cost a grand-it’s pretty mind blowing for a 1/6 figure.
If your thinkin about this-just get it. Even if your not the biggest fan of the character you’ll appreciate the detail and engineering. Excited to see what hot toys will do in the future & really glad they have competition now

is there any weathering on the clothing?

Yeah the weatherings there-it’s just my crappy photography skills-his main body looks dirty with grime added to it.
il try to take some better photos later but I was just too busy looking in awe at it today.
My photos do not do it justice!
He also comes with a tonne of accessories, including bloodied gloves instead of the regular gloves
