No, because this is being sold under The Mandalorian line, if they changed it to a different version that’d be some serious false advertising.

No chance. It will just be another Boba Fett to buy which is right up HT alley. I dislike the latest design so I hope they don't sneak in a must have accessory that bamboozles me into buying.

The latest design looks pretty strange, if not pretty comical.
The looser previous versions look more apt for the lord of a desert world.

There’s no reason for them to do that. This figure is intended to be accurate to his appearance for The Mandalorian Season 2.
Even if they’re similar, they’re different appearances so will warrant separate figures. That’s one of the pillars of Star Wars merchandise.
Especially when it comes to a character like Boba Fett where anything related will sell.

Why would you think they’d update this for a Book of Boba Fett version???
This release is specifically trying to look like that post credits scene with Boba on the throne. That is the « piece de resistance » look (hope that isn’t trademarked). I know he had the repaint in other scenes but the Throne scene was a massive selling point and they will do anything to make it accurate to that.
plus this is a damn Mando version not a Book version. Come on man!

Yes like MyenShi said above, the paint chips, scratches, body suit, kama, belt are all totally different in BoBF.

Nope haha.
I did like parts of it, but as a whole it was weak.
Did not have the same feel as the Mando episodes. I had some worries about the show and how they would handle the character and the story. So far he doesn’t feel very Boba to me…I am not sure if it is how old and out of shape he is (that jumpsuit ain’t hiding anything), that he is now no longer a subtle/understated character but a crime lord, how much he has his helmet off…i think as much as it is his show, I almost hope they still leave some of Boba’s mystery. I don’t know how to explain it but the first episode was so underwhelming.

He’s not out of shape. Everybody keeps saying he’s fat lol. He’s probably in better shape than most of us. The guy’s 61; of course he’s not gonna have a flat stomach and a 6 pack. He’s still jacked, though. Tem was never tall and lanky anyway, he’s always had a stockier, broader build compared to Jeremy Bulloch.
Yeah he had a shirtless scene in this even. I wouldn’t call him fat by any means. He is solid. Hollywood has trained us to think Bruce Lee ripped bodies are what it means to be physically fit and strong. But if you look at those strong men completions, you’re going to find guys built solidly like Morrison at the very smallest end of the scale. Look at the Mountain from GoT. He doesn’t have a six pack but nobody calls him fat. He’s strong as an ox and solidly built. Sure, Morrison has more than 2% body fat on him, but he doesn’t have a beer gut or anything. Just a solidly built, powerful torso. Bulloch was a slender built guy. They just have different body types.
Morrison’s arguably works better for someone who’s job is physical. Bulloch was more a desk jockey than bounty hunter. We’ve just gotten used to Boba looking that way Morrison looks ‘fat’ by comparison. He is thicker, sure, but not in a bad way. I do feel the costume hasn’t been designed to do him any favors though. Oddly enough losing that cod piece really makes the torso seem so open and empty and therefore a bit exaggerated. Give him another belt and cod piece and he would look more evened out I bet.

Must be about your age when watching Fett for the first time, I still prefer the thin Fett look.

Ugh, just had another look at the proto pics and I had forgot about that ugly rough paint texture that got carried over from the deluxe version. If that doesn't get corrected it will be a definite cancelation.
I'd love to see them incorporate more of the scratches we saw in the new series as well, since the armor looked so much better that way, but I know that's a long shot.

Not chance of getting the new looks even in paint apps
But I know they will improve the Repaint Armor making more smoother then the rush prototype

They’ve already smoothed out his armor in the more recent prototype featured in Fennec’s photos and later showcase events. I actually preferred the rough look but I know it’s more accurate now.
