I love all the stuff that Doc comes with. After several years of Star Wars and MCU figures coming with very little, seeing all these bits looks impressive -- tools and clips and pads and clipboards, etc.
This!

Well it’s been confirmed. Unlikely they will change the sculpt now.
Easy money for HT.

Typical that they'd offer the plutonium case only with the deluxe, but then pack Einstein in with Marty as a standard release. That way you'd have to pay more for both. I don't want to pay more for that crappy Einstein. They can keep that ****. They should've made standard and deluxe versions of Marty with or without Einstein ... but that would be too customer-friendly.

That’s so lame that they’re making two versions, and the only difference is the plutonium case. I hope the price isn’t jacked up too much for just that one accessory. Clearly that’s the version to get. I don’t know why that constitutes a deluxe edition though.

These figures are bad, and what's even crazier is that they look worse standing next to each other, because the expressions don't match. Marty's got this sort of intense, angry stare and Doc looks like he is getting his prostate checked.

Getting Doc only so that I can get a custom sculpt by Inigo to replace. Not surprising at all for Hot Toys to do this but still disappointing regardless.

Also, they really gave Doc the stopwatch to put around Einstein when Einstein is tied to the Marty figure.

If Hot Toys was insistent on a deluxe version of Doc they could have had it come with Einstein and the plutonium case. Then it would be more justifiable.

Instead it’s a cash grab both ways. Make people pay for the desirable accessory, and make people buy another Marty figure to get an Einstein. Lame.

I absolutely hate the phrase “cash grab” when it comes to companies making collectibles that people want but in this case it’s so appropriate.

The reusing of the BTTF2 Doc sculpt. The packaging of Einstein with a reissued Marty. Not even upgrading something as basic as a display stand. The only redeeming parts of this set are the accessories that Doc has and one of the cooler things going for it turns out to be a Deluxe version only piece.

This sets a precedent where it’s possible they could just stick an old sculpt like the ANH Han head on a ESB outfitted body and call it a day.

HT has been up to some shady **** lately. Diecast MK 1 also comes to mind. Blatant corner cutting to put as little effort in as possible to cash in on older figures. Annoying

MKI is a prime example of a cash grab too. That release made me sick. At least Doc is 90% new but the sculpt reuse is just shameful.

NOTHING beats the Batman Begins reissue figure that they announced. I legit think it's the worst thing Hot Toys has ever done and the fact that people ate it up is even more sad to see.

Selling a 10+ year old figure that had a ton of problems on it, for $250 without improving anything on it when they can (just downscale your 1/4 Batman Begin figure you clowns).

Speaking of Batman re-release. Did they release the Tumbler on the same day ? I need to go check.

Am still hoping for a DeLorean re-release to go with these two.

Seems like they decided with Doc that development would all go into creation of all the new accessories (and there are a lot when you consider the tool belt and all his "stuff").

Yeah, HT being pretty dodgy here. They know they have us by the n*t-sack with this release. Could have been an absolute winner with a new headsculpt and (better)Einstein/Plutonium deluxe. Sigh...you'd think by now I'd be used to ordering a figure I really want but not 100% pumped for.

Love BTTF, but I passed on the first Doc because the head sculpt was weak. To use it again for a character that clearly looks much older in the first film, is just a cheap move. These are supposed to high end collectibles. Children's toy companies have been swapping & reusing body parts to save costs for years, but those were cheap 10 quid figures
