I think your assessment is correct. The Sideshow should be bigger and the Hasbro a bit smaller. The HT is definitely smaller than the Sideshow. The details of the Hasbro aren't as sharp but it's a nice enough inexpensive stand in. Could probably improve it a good bit with a little work too. So ultimately there are advantages and disadvantages to all three.
The Hasbro is pretty solid and sturdy. Not as accurate as the SSC version, but indeed a good piece if you don't want to spend too much on a 1/6 scaled speederbike. I have the SSC on the shelf, and a Hasbro bike on top of another shelf in the other room, I kept it because it is cool (the Hasbro Scout is gone though).

The difference in price between the single Scout and the set with the bike is quite startling, but some of that must be compensating for the size and weight for delivery.

From my perspective I'm only interested in the figure, so the bike looks like a really expensive accessory.

I'll get it anyway, but will be from an EU distributor to avoid the crazy customs. This is where my specific collecting focus helps a lot when comes to the budget, I don't buy everything, only what fits my focus, and thus I can save the $$$ for the items I want
What retailer are you going with?

Someone needs to blow the rape whistle on that website, good grief that is expensive.

Dearest I've seen in the UK is £240 for the Scout £510 for Scout and Bike, which is 453 and 964 AUD respectively.

Cheapest UK including delivery I've seen is £199 for the Scout and £445 for the set. (HK was a little cheaper, but not really worth the hassle in this case).

Those prices are still dearer than the Popcultcha prices, though I don't know whether they charge delivery as well.

I see. Have purchased some figures with LCDN, also a member there which is great. I think they, by far, set the best prices on Hot Toys in Europe.
I preordered a Scout and Speederbike and also a single Scout from SPACE. A bit more expensive than LCDN, but have points which help with the final price and the shipping cost are zero.

LCDN for me too, moreso because I live in Belgium so shipping is something ridiculous like 4 euro. Sterling service in general and their membership is amazing value for money. Thanks to that annual 30 euro I save 300 at the very least.

Does the Speeder version come with a stand for the figure or is the bike base all you get?
