I guess only James Gunn can get away with saying I took a #2 and that a starfish is a reference to a butthole. The only other mature element missing is Seth Rogan and Jonah Hill drawing penises like in Superbad.

I'm right with you Matticus. I generally do not like low brow humor in my action movies. However, a James Gunn movie is essentially like a comedy... though I find the poo-poo humor a little juvenile when overused. Of all the Marvel movies, the most innovative and fun were the Guardians movies (and crew).

I think this movie will be Gunn-overload though.

Did anyone notice that The Shark speaks like B&R Bane?

Boooooomb!

Biiiiiird!

I think DC is wasting john Cena in this film with that lame looking character. The guy looks like a real life superhero and you put him in a comedy wearing a silly costume? :cautious:

Poor Idris Elba, always stuck in bad films or playing C level characters. They've tried making him a star because everything about him screams big time leading man, but nope, he played a forgettable small role in the MCU and now he's playing a bootleg Will Smith character, but without the comedic timing in a DC film. That's rough. :lol There's always SW or Star Trek.

There's not a single character or thing in this film I'm looking forward to, so I'll wait for it when it's on TNT or TBS.

He was a villain in the last Star Trek movie already. I liked him as Heimdall and thought he was important in his role with the storyline.

I literally read that and thought "Idris Elba was in the MCU?" Oh yeah, Heimdall. I guess that's the definition of forgettable then considering he played the character in like 3-4 movies. :lol

Hmmm ...I knew Heimdall was in the movie. I just forgot it was Elba that played him. So wouldn't that mean Elba did such a great job acting as Heimdall that I forgot it was him as the actor?

I gotta say one thing about this movie, tho. At least it's not afraid to show the characters as they should be ...as seen in the comics ....costumes, appearances, powers and all.

I always hated it when movie-makers decided to forgo the comic-based costumes and appearances because they thought it was silly. Yet, the comics have a fan following.
