It?s a tactic..

now they won?t allow it to be purchased using reward points.
no longer an option

they did it with original armor Mando this way too.

got me on that one. . I was waiting for points to mature and it sold out and when it came pack it was no points allowed ..

Wow not allowing points is a new low for them. Didn't know they were doing that nowadays. Pretty lame of them.

I dunno man, I added one to my cart just to test that theory and they let me add my whopping $5 in reward points. Are you thinking of coupon codes?

A retailer like Sideshow doesn't gain anything by artificially limiting demand or lying about availability.

Yeah I agree. I'd say it would hurt them instead since people who really want to buy it would go to other sources instead. If they wanted to make people buy, they can pretend they are running out, but not out of stock.

I ran into point limitations trying to get the Asmus Aragorn exclusive, I guess now it's expanded to other items. I get why the exclusive isn't an option but I wonder what's the justification with Cap?

Nope

points..

I even called them on it and they said it happens sometimes on figures.if it goes waitlist and then comes back they may or may not allow points to be used. Depends on the figure.
no guarantees you’ll be able to use points once a figure goes waitlist and comes back available. I was mad but nothing I could do.
it’s the chance you take waiting . Ya never know.

Lesson is if you REALLY want it get it and don't wait until the very last minute.

I wonder how long before they start doing that crap more often, limiting what points can be used on. They really will lose a lot of customers that way.

That's how it used to be anyway, you could use points or promos/coupons but not both. Or use a coupon and you wouldn't earn points on the entire amount. No points used on waitlist conversions. Using points used to be quite a calculus of savings gained vs. savings lost. They made it much friendlier, but clearly too much so as they added the expiration date feature. Now points will only be worth anything if you regularly make purchases and you redeem paltry accrued amounts that won't even offset shipping.

This 100%.

They used to be much much more stringent on how you could use points. They are far more customer friendly now.

Hard to believe we are almost in May and Sideshow still hasn't gotten him in yet to ship out. Hopefully we start to get emails soon.

I guess I don't fully understand the problem at the ports. Without knowing the full scope of things, can they not hire a mass influx of temp workers to get caught up? Some jobs just need manpower, not specific trade knowledge.

There have to be people needing work in the big cities on the coast, unless the issue isn't lack of manpower. Sounds like management at places I've worked at though. Understaffed with pressure on the drone workers, but the higher ups don't do much to change anything.

I seriously doubt it's a "tactic."

Either enough people canceled their pre-orders, or Hot Toys informed Sideshow that their production run will be larger than they originally planned.

I think it's definitely a tactic. They have something to gain by luring people into ordering something they might not have or were going to wait and see if it gets discounted. Now they're locked in at full retail price. For what it's worth though they still let me use points on it when I just tried. I don't have any codes to try but they definitely limited codes on the first Mando when he was low stock. I mean that's a crap move any way you slice it. Basically "we know this is rare and we know you'll pay full price."

You can hire 1,000 guys, they're not moving a shipping container. They only have so many cranes and places to put the containers on land. Then they've got to get moved again to get loaded to trucks etc and again there's only so many of those machines too.

Need more land to dock ships, more cranes to unload ships, space to store unloaded containers and truck drivers to deliver those containers. Not something that be fixed overnight with just hiring random workers.

While I wait for my cap to come. And seeing as how this and 2012 version would be the last SR cap figures going forward we might still see one more version that was shown in endgame. Stealth suit Cap. 56f028f39d008d78bbac36ffbb4262ff.jpg

I was thinking that the other day
After the final Endgame suit, the stealth look is my favorite. Except for Endgame, he didn't have the shield or helmet with that suit.
