Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Well fellas, it's been fun reading about how everyone thinks her face looks like a man, but I'll see you all next year when the final product photos are up (and you're all complaining about not being part of the first batch despite being a "day one order" lol) :wink1:

lmao too true

so many of those recently

Yeah I had high hopes for this one but the more I look at it the worse I think that headsculpt is. And $285 is way too damn much money to just "leave the head in the box". Here's hoping this ends up being one whose final product is far superior to the prototype; then throw in free shipping and maybe it'd be worth it.

Wonder how many more years in a row Hot Toys can get away with raising their prices by $10 like clockwork.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Some pictures from J.C. Hong will show how the headsculpt really looks like :wink1:

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Ugh seems like $285 is the new normal...compared what we get with Jango for $285 and now Bo for the same price.

I'll wait for a coupon or some points, just like Boba, this won't be hitting anytime soon. I prefer the TCW armor but she looks great.

If the head sculpt stays like this though..that'll definitely stay in the box.

The problem for me, tho, is that Jango is def a must-have and Bo here is not.

The higher the price goes, the more selective people will be.

Also tempering my resolve is the idea of Mando v3.0 AND Boba Fresh. You know we're going to be getting those, and I doubt they'll be any less expensive. I'm waiting for now.

When did we hit the $265 mark for regular figures... and then the $275 mark?

Last I heard, $250 seemed to be the raise from $235.

$285 is a jump that I am not happy about. Brings $300 in by the end of this year.

Agreed, Jango looks fantastic. Couldn't pass him up and had no problem forking over money for him.

Thankfully we have over a year to decide, I don't think anything new introduced going forward besides maybe troopers will hit before Q2 2022 so no rush to make a decision on Bo or anyone else coming up.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Next year release..I’ll bet by that time Gina will be on the show again :lol

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Wasn't even remotely looking forward to this release, but something about those preview picks got me hooked. PO'd.

Check out Comic Concepts...best price around. $269.99

Never heard of these guys until now Seems strange they're able to do such good prices and still have pre-orders open on figures on waitlists elsewhere, has anyone else ordered through them?

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

I didn't realize the price when I posted earlier. I think instead of producing a standard version with just the helmet and a deluxe version with helmeted and unhelmeted portraits and one or two extra accessories, HT just released a "semi-deluxe" version for $285. It probably makes business sense because females don't tend to sell as well, but Star Wars collectors do tend to buy every character. This will sell out. My only concern is if it ends up being a slow seller, Koska and Fennec might be less likely because folks will want both helmeted and unhelmeted heads for them as well.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Figure seems well done but I have almost zero interest for some reason. Never watched Clone Wars and I guess the character didn't make a big enough impression in Mando so far. Aesthetically the outfit looks fantastic but I really dislike that helmet, probably ruins an otherwise cool-looking character for me.

Price is bonkers, but maybe this is a limited figure like Krennic was -- they also overcharged for him kinda.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

Price is bonkers.

Yep, that's what kept me away. Perhaps the shockingly high price was reflective of a very low planned edition size. I'm quite certain HT didn't expect this to sell like it just did.

Maybe now, since it sold so well, they will enlarge their edition and SS will allow more stock to other retailers. Time will tell.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

You guys have to realize that when this figure is release a year plus from now, the price will be cheap compared to the preorder prices that will be in June 2022

Re: Hot Toys - TMS - Bo-Katan Kryze (The Mandalorian Season 2)

SOLD OUT at AE and Timewalker...

Amazing!

Wow. Either their stock was limited or HT really can do no wrong with anything Mando related. I *do* think she looks cool, but she just isn't a big enough need for me to justify the price. Congrats to those who are getting her though.

For the usual s**** and giggles.

Nice edit. As usual Hot Toys messes up on the eyes, which is a huge aspect of capturing the likeness.

I agree, I've been calling figures like Jango pretty much a deluxe figure as well based on the number of accessories it comes with.

I figured it might be the case that the deluxe versions of figures ended up selling better, which in turn worked out for Hot Toys since it has a higher profit margin.

Since they then knew what collectors would be willing to pay, they just pushed the prices higher while making it look like there are some deluxe-like accessories.

Granted there are other factors for the increasing prices of these like material costs and licensing fees.

I'm at least glad that the prices for troopers have not jumped up to the near $300 mark, though I imagine they try to keep that lower since some people are inclined to buy multiple troopers.
