Thanks for posting these kyekye. Just purchased a few extras of the K and D blasters from KG for my custom figs.

Their blasters and accessories really came out great.

So I tried the Odicoat yesterday. It's shinier than I was anticipating.

You sure didn't waste any time! It does look pretty glossy, but still much improved over the unmodded coat. I wonder if it's possible to knock down the shine a bit with dullcoat?

I really need to study Raymond's thread again to see how he did his weathering.

I think I started in on it within an hour or two of getting it Saturday. I like the idea of trying the dull cote. There's a couple gaps I'd like to fill in first.

The gel isn't the easiest to apply, the instructions are probably for a full size jacket and recommend using the card it comes with (business card? I probably tossed it) or a flat brush. The brush I used started to clump together and so some parts weren't as evenly applied and there a couple spots that didn't get hit at all , probably a good idea to have water handy to rinse it off here and there.

I think on the figure the treated coat is 100% better looking! Now I’m definitely going to do this if my K ever arrives

I wonder if the effect can also be achieved using candle wax, as advised for waxing real clothing.

The process seems simple enough: rub candle wax over the surface, then use a hair dryer to melt it into the fabric.

It would be difficult to wax such a small coat though. I’d also be nervous about heating it up too because you have to get it pretty hot in order for the wax to start melting and become workable. I think odicoat might be the best solution.

Use a glade candle. Keep it lit.....use a applicator brush to apply it. Just need to be careful of the colors in the candle.

Glade candles are very soft wax. I have never tried this on a figure clothing set, but works great with joints and clock works.

Thanks, guys! I guess if anyone goes this route I would recommend trying on another fabric first to get the feel of it and probably consider switching to a smaller brush for the areas where there's lots of stitching like the sleeves, I applied the product pretty liberally and I think those areas could have benefitted from a bit more strategic application as it builds up in the stitching, I'm not sure avoiding the stitching is possible as it's pretty pervasive on the sleeves but it could probably be minimized.

Interesting on the candle wax, curious to try something like that. I know Raymond F said he waxed the Yunsil jacket, but I'm not sure how exactly he went about that. He got pretty amazing results. The materials used for the jackets are different though, so I'm not sure the effect would be identical.

I used glade Vanilla before for waxing gears. It dries clear and is very soft. It will melt with a hair dryer on low heat very easily.

You figure will smell
Like vanilla however.

Hey Ton Ton. nice job. Braver than me, but looks good.

Just a small hint from my experience with colouring coats. If you're putting a dull coat on it. Try to make it as thin as possible. Maybe apply with an airbrush if you have one.

I painted the coat on my Rangetrooper white, and while I got the desired effect it also made the coat relatively stiff. Makes sense though. The more layers of stuff you put on the material the less it moves and behaves like material.

This is typically used for a metal finish, but it is just an oil-based wax, and I have used it before on metal and it gives a dull finish

I believe I have something like that called museum wax. Do products like that come off on fabric? With some of these products I worry about futzing and then adjusting the head sculpt and getting something on the sculpt.

Got mine yesterday, also with many stamps. Only ordered one other item from KG Hobby before (Emperor Palpatine Hot Toys) which similarly arrived with many many stamps.

Figure looks pretty good. Now where's Blade Hunter 2019 Hunter D?

I received my K today from KG, very nicely done from Supermad.
This was a very long wait, don't want it to happen again.
Anyway, I was going through the items in my box and I couldn't find the shoulder holster for the gun.
I know it was in the list of accessories, even if no promo shot was given to us.
Some days ago a fellow collector posted here a comparison pic
between the blackbox and this figure's shoulder holsters:


Did everyone received their holster, especially ones who ordered from KG?

EDIT: Also on the coat there is a magnet on the right side of the fur lapel,
to hold it near the coat, but no magnet on the left side.
Is this correct?
