Action heroes these days aren't huge, save for the Evans and Hemsworths of the world, but there is an expectation that most will need to go through a rigorous training routine in the months prior to shooting so Men's Health can push articles about their process to mainstream consumers. Look at the noise surrounding Chris Pratt's and Paul Rudd's transformations. I don't know if such things accompanied movies like Commando or Cobra. That's probably because Arnie and Sly were always seen as monsters, whereas today's guys are seen as schlubs who turned it around ("if they can do it, so can you"). Their stories feel more accessible, more marketable to a general audience.

Probably not, just don?t have shelf space or room in the budget. I?m impressed though, given the option I would definitely pick it up, but I can?t get everything I like so pieces really have to have value to me and in my collection to be worth taking funds away from getting something else.

As for the muscle shots of Sly, it?s not just him, that?s like 80s action personified, big guns, both weapons and muscles, even Arnold movies showcased it. Look at the trap setting scene in Predator, all of a sudden, ever muscular guy on the team is wearing just vests and things that show off muscles. Look at cartoons like He-Man and Thundercats, it was a decade of selling larger than life heroes, the. Batman ?89 opened the doors for action characters to be appealing without it all.

Yeah Im the same, the fig is super tempting but I got no real shelf space and I would like to display this fig rather then just keep him in the box. Also if I get a Rambo its got to be from First Blood. The other Rambo movies I can take or leave.

On average there are probably more muscular actors now than in the 80's and 90's, but the difference is, they don't necessarily stay in that kind of shape for all their movies and most don't make traditional action films, with the exception of Vin Diesel and The Rock when he's not making big summer CGI family films. A lot of them are also not considered "action heroes" either, they're just actors getting in shape for a role. No one thinks of Hugh Jackman as an action hero, even though he got bigger and bigger and played a badass character like Wolverine.

I'm in the exact same place. No real interest in anything Rambo after First Blood. I only own the M65 Jacket version. However, this figure gives me hope for possible First Blood figures.

I rotate my figures from shelf to box depending on my mood. I feel like this one might be a permanent piece, unless Threezero does a First Blood or First Blood 2. Hot Toys needs to do a DX First Blood Rambo..

I gave up on HT. And honestly, I doubt they can match Threezero's likeness. I hope Threezero does the rest of the franchise, plus Rocky and even Indiana Jones too.

I also think the tone has changed as well. The 80s were a different time. Whats considered ?cool? is different now.

I just saw from my local store, Threezero is doing another run of these bad boys. Target release in Q4.

That's awesome, missed out first time ! Will be getting this for sure. So if its sold out or there is only secondary market prices, hold out for retail price !

Very good news. I notice KG Hobby already have him back on pre-order. ?153, very good option for UK buyers like myself wanting to avoid import tax.

Do they declare low value.? nothing worse than import duty /tax.

Yes I always ask them to reduce the value in the comments on each order. They usually send as an $18 toy. Never been charged import duty from they yet.

He's actually in stock at TNS figures for $220. Being a Hong Kong company they will also probably reduce the value if asked.
