I can say I like the paint apps

Just feels like one of the early war machine concept arts that had a real toned down look

Looks like it'll be a good figure but the upper chest is just too rounded and separated from the abdomen for me. Makes the torso look less cool than it does in the movie.

I much much prefer this paint above the mark 4. Agreed with all the torso problems, but I can imagine it looks better in hand and less jarring than in pictures.

This and the mark 85 would look amazing together I reckon.

Does his helmet look a little softer around the edges than the mark 4? Thought it was the same helmet design.

Decent little review with a quick comparison at the end. While ultimately inferior to the mk4 I do see this growing on a lot of ppl. Definitely not a bad choice for a first time armor collector

This figure just screams afterthought to me, especially after getting the last 3 WM's. The silver lining is it's indeed better looking than the Mk AOU one, so it has that going for it:lol

At least HT could've given him a few more accessories, maybe the glowing orb of light or the actual Power Stone Orb.

I reckon the team suit will get those...at least the Power Stone Orb.

This WM suit looks like it was given the nano tech appearance. Looks alright, just not the war machine that we all "expect" or "imagined" him to be.

I passed on the mark 4 for that exact reason (and the missing lights). HT came so close to perfection with that thing and decided to drop the ball on the paint job. If you watch some scenes from IW it has quite some weathering going on that would've added a lot more to the figure imo.

Do you mean quality issues or just the design itself?

Quality issues (I ended up really liking the design). There's always been some weathering to every HT diecast IM/WM as far as I know (on the mark 6 as well).

Ah gotcha. I'm getting one so I didn't know if you meant actual QC issues or just the fact that they didn't weather it.

Yeah don't get me wrong, it's still a great quality piece and definitely worth getting before the price goes up considerably (as I'm sure it will). It's just that I'm an accuracy freak and I want that sweet weathering on my stuff :lol. The only QC issues that I've heard of about on the mark 4 are some rare cases of the knee armor not aligning properly and a bit of looseness on the minigun on his back. Maybe they fixed those issues in later batches as I haven't heard anyone complaining about them lately.

I dunno, if you are a stickler for true screen accuracy then you will find issues with most figures. I mean, the weathering on all my other Iron Man and War Machine figures is probably only like 5% of the total amount of weathering they have on screen. I definitely would not let that be the reason you pass on the Mk 4 if you are otherwise a fan of War Machine or the armor as it appears in the movie. For me, the Mk 4 is a bit over-designed and my third favorite WM behind the Mk 1 and Mk 3, but in hand it also means that the paintwork is so busy that you really do not even notice the lack of weathering. My guess is that the digital camo application made it too costly or complicated to add another layer of weathering on top, but again, in person it is so busy that I do not even notice.

I am definitely going to pick up this Mk 6, but I will wait for free shipping on Sideshow. Pretty much every other recent Marvel figure has hit free shipping before selling out. Playing the same waiting game with the Punisher WM as well, and I am also at this point waiting for an additional discount on the Mk 43. I could see that one hanging around until Spooktacular.

Gotta day though, super annoying about the missing silver on the thigh. Actually pretty inexcusable to miss a paint app on a section, not like they had to remold a piece or anything. Stuff like that is one of the reasons I have little hope they will correct Caps broken shield once that releases.

You are absolutely right and I'm aware I'm not making things easier for myself but I don't mind passing on a figure that I know I wouldn't be completely satisfied with personally. I get what you're saying about the already busy camo paint scheme but I would've been happy with some weathering on the silver bits at least as those are the most flat painted and easy to notice. Then there's the missing lights which are even less excusable than the paint as those were part of the armor's design. Kinda like the missing silver on the mark 6's tigh that you mentioned.

Gotta say, I?m SUPER tempted to get this one. I?ve been thinking about getting a War Machine, so it?s pretty much between the Mark 6 and the Mark 4. My nerd brain says the Mark 4 because it looks a lot cooler, but my collector brain says the Mark 6 because I?m going for the Endgame OG Avengers (and maybe Rocket). The lower price on this helps and I actually kinda like how the chest and shoulders remind me a little of War for Cybertron Bumblebee.
