Not sure what you mean. Explain Depp how? If you're speaking about popularity there is no comparison between Depp and McGillis. She hasn't been popular in 30 years and Top Gun was the height of her popularity. Depp is still making big movies. As for aging, some people are lucky and some aren't. It hits everyone differently and at different ages.

Fascinating that people love the trailer yet there is really nothing at all about the plot line for the new movie - it's just a "he's the same 30 years later" (complete with another bald Navy officer who says everything but "your ego is writing checks your body can't cash" in his dressing-down speech) and some gorgeous and cool shots.

It almost feels like a well done fan-made trailer using tweaks of the 1986 music and clips, along with some cgi-ed Cruise faces into Navy fighter footage from youtube.

That being said - I'm still really looking forward to this movie, especially given the resurgence of "old" Russia in the past few years and the rise of a more aggressive China. Feels like the right time to revisit what might have felt like a cold war anachronism ten years ago.

And not sure what deal with devil Cruise did to seemingly age ten years in almost 35.
