I’ve never seen hip cracks on my Iron Monger, but I’ve also never looked up where to look. [emoji2960]

Whoa...yeah the proportions need a lot of re-working. Not just the hips. I think if they produced a new diecast Mark 3 with screen-accurate colours and improved engineering along with a new Iron Monger, it'd sell pretty well. Has their been an Iron Man release that didn't? Maybe some of the HPP armours?

They just did a new updated DC MK3 so that is not happening anytime soon. I don't think the new DC MK2 has been a huge hit because it's the same size as the DC MK3.

The engineering involved for this suit must be extensive, because that's the only way I see why the price is that high. Either that or HT betting that collectors will pick this up--regardless of price--to pair it up with their Mark 85s. In fact, this is depicted in the marketing materials.

This an older MK VII torn apart (the photo is from 2013) and i know there are more parts on newer ones. Also i doubt there is much they can reuse from other figures due to the smaller slimmer size.

I remember seeing these back then and wanting Hot Toys to sell a wall hanger version. Would be pretty sweet for an anniversary special.

I’m not sure why people were expecting it to be cheaper, since the price is in line with all other recent Iron Man figures. Why would a completely unique (and thus newly engineered) figure be cheaper?

Sure, it sucks that the price has gone up $100 in the last few years, but it’s important to be realistic. The prices aren’t going down.

Completely agree. I think people are just in shock and denial.

Look at this figure's price tag I felt pretty much happier with Darth Maul DX speeder set :).

As it appears to be Mark 49 it's hardly a shocker that it's "diecast" and 400ish.. Every main suit since Mark 42 has followed this pattern. There's only been the small number of HPP and Shanghai re-releases that haven't.

Because my perception has been that the price tag on an Iron Man has more to do with the character’s popularity than how much it costs to produce one.

Sign me up for the iron monger 2.0. I have the first one and its pretty rad. Its too bad the hips dont support the weight of the figure but its still cool.

Someome mentioned earlier that by the time this is released, it wont seem as expensive, by that point the every figure will be 250 to 270, so i think they are correct.

I think 3rd party knockoff companies are going to really reap the benefits of hot toys outpricing its customers.

They know it's the last Potts figure, and it'll be rare. Plus Endgame, diecast, perhaps higher likeness fees etc etc so it's logical in some ways.

But I'm definitely out. This is for the core Marvel and Iron Man collectors I think.

its maybe the last one but doesnt need to be the most expensive one

I understand the price jump on these with I remember iron man 2 being around 250 at the time, but no one is forcing anyone from buying, I say try to contact hot toys and say I will never buy from you anymore due to your items just going up in price, I don’t make too much myself and consider my salary low, but endgame is the final film and there’s no more afterwards for me, so this is the only reason I buy these, and I didn’t like the previous Potts armor from three years ago, I’ve always wanted a Potts armor and finally got it, this will be my big purchase on endgame only hot toys, so why not enjoy them, also ordered capt America nebula and mark 85, just my take.
