Like the body, never bought for the head sculpt. Really like the "Slim Versions" of figures Asmus releases. I'd love to see a Gandalf "slim" version for the grey and white.

Managed to pick this guy up for a song and it's much better than I was expecting! That said, gonna do the neck and vest mods next week. Also, the body on is very floppy so will replace that too ideally. Is there a good alternative around the same size but without breaking the bank?

Got a great price on this guy. Hoping they release a new sculpt but all in all definitely a solid piece with a bit of work.

Hi dudez.
I have this guy. I am wondering what the vest and neck mods are all about. Any links to any guide, anybody?
Any other mod I should be aware of, besides changing the body?
BTW I also intend getting rid of the hard plastic. Any suggestions, or is it unreasonable?
Thanks,
m.

Asmus has got a little big of competition with this upcoming release.
No details on price or release date yet but with movie accurate robes and weapons and rooted hair and beard this looks incredible.

Yes it is unlicensed. I don't know if I want to support people stealing profits from New Line Cinema and Asmus IP, not countinf the fact that this level of hair rooting and fabric may cost a kidney.

Might just be a custom piece i don't know details just found it googling info of new asmus gtg and gtw

I suppost asmus but i also support a piece of art for its quality no matter where it comes from.

Im excited to see what asmus has in store this year their work is getting better and better.

Isn't someone supposed to be doing 1/4 figures? Maybe this is one of them. It looks too detailed to be 1/6.

Also, unless they've got an official license, I'm betting they'll be getting a cease and desist letter in short order.

Normally studios don't, but considering ACI and Asmus both had the rights at the same time, I wonder if WB/NL would allow dual licenses again. I'm very curious about this figure ...

That's one awesome looking Gandalf figure! :horror I had to do a double take - I thought it was the real thing at first glance. :lol

At moment we are the only licensed 1/6 action figure LOTR, HOBT company in the world.

Also, our Gandalf the White is on the way too, fully rooted beard too

It's good looking, but it's rather Gandalf the Blonde than Gandalf the White... And too young. Really glad that the Asmus version is confirmed !!
:)

Molecule 8 was doing the 1/4 figures. This figure is 1/6 by a new company. If it comes out like they expect it to I think it’s goimg to be rather pricey

It's not a custom, this was posted yesterday in One Sixth Republic FB page by a guy on behal of "Viper studio".

Viper Studio 1:6 Figure work(White Pilgrim)

Hello everyone, this is viper studio. After two-years development on our new product, we are now glad to announce that the development of Gandolf the White Robe is about to finish (Only weapons are left in production).

Our team has spent plenty of time on restoring movie accuracy, focusing on every detail of the character to make it as perfect as possible. The final results turned to be worth it.

-Clothing: we use the same embroidery craft as the movie.

-Leather boots and belt: we adopt real suede material, which is completely handmade.

-Head sculpt : manually rooted hair & beard

-Accessories: We are likely to use silver as the material of all metal accessories (still in the experiment).

This is just a preview, not for pre-order. We are going to provide further details about this figure in our next official announcement.

Please leave comments below if you are interested. Thank you for your support!

HMM might wait for this one instead of updating my Gandalf the Grey.
