Better/expensive would be the Tamshii, but it’s heavy diecast so that could be a positive or negative. The Sideshow 3PO is nice though and HT just teased one in the latest R2 pics.

GREAT review icruise!!!!!

If Sideshow had any level of decency they'd send you another Salacious head for helping them out with such great advertising!

If I didn't already have it on order your review would have got me over the line for sure!

Crumb and the accessories are definitely an improvement over the original. I like the updates to the throne as well. I still prefer the sculpt and tail pose of the original Jabba better but I do like the more accurate colors on the new one. I’m not impressed enough to upgrade though. I think I’ll wait to see what Hot Toys does at this point. I just passed on this initially as a rerelease with a new Jabba but they definitely put a lot more work into than that. I think if they sold the pieces separately again like they originally did you’d have seen a few of us buy certain pieces to upgrade the display. The all or nothing option probably drastically decreased the amount they could have sold in separate pieces.

Sorry if I made things difficult for anyone. :D

So I just realized that I should probably finally break down and buy a decent C-3PO figure to go with the new Jabba (I've been using a repainted Hasbro figure up until now). Is the Sideshow figure the best option or is there something else like a model kit that might be better/cheaper?

I think the sideshow would work better. Tamshii is way to clean for Jabba's palace. SS is nicely weathered for that. The Hot Toys tease was for an AOTC version.

Yep. If you're on the fence about these expensive purchases -- you should probably ask if the video review is positive or negative. If they say Positive -- avoid watching at all costs and save yourself some money. If they say negative -- have fun ripping the piece apart -- and still save yourself some money.

A 3PO from HT would probably be die-cast and cost around $350. Sideshow’s 3PO is still available for $235. Just food for thought.

Why would it be die-cast? I don’t think it would.
I’m happy with most of my SSC figures, but I would wait for ht for a better 3po. I think the SSC one looks toyish when it comes to material and paint.

HT’s latest R2 is part die-cast and costs $243. It would only make sense that they would make 3PO die-cast (even if just parts of it), so they can gouge their customers...

Well apparently we up up to the third version tease from HT and not one has gone up for PO, so it depends how long he wants to wait.

True... but it’s quite amazing that they haven’t released one yet. But I’ll imagine that the release of a OT R2 does make way for it.

Just added the arch I’ve had packed up and the creatures E59BC0C0-9ED4-42FD-8906-8237D3B79A95.jpgCBFAB5EB-F550-4FB3-927B-E5F09049C5EC.jpg3B5DBCAD-DEB6-4691-BCA6-25D77E5F7E1D.jpeg

I think I would find Crumb aggravating being that fragile despite that he looks better than the old one. One fall from the shelf and he's done for.

I live in earthquake country. No bueno for fragile Crumb.

Hot glue, it does not damage the paint or figure. And will keep his butt in place...

Icruise, loved your video review. (and all of your reviews are always entertainin) If I didn't already own Jabba, you're review would have sold me.

I took sometime to update my Bib Fortuna to look a little better. Repainted the eyes, subtle paint wash to the face, body swap, water treated the robes and airbrushed them a darker shade. I think he looks a little more presentable now.

That Bib does look good, genghisjohn. Nice upgrades. I still have to swap out the body on mine — don’t know if I’ll tackle a repaint yet.

By the way, do you think you can measure the length of the base (minus the gargoyle heads); I need to correct my measurements in that background thread. It would be greatly appreciated.
