Yeah, no. The series would've sucked wide-open, unwiped *** if all of a sudden it started focusing on the lives of random zombies pre-apocalypse. Glad he's gone.

I don't know how far Darabont was going to take that idea but at least one or two episodes based on some zombies would have been cool, Specially if they were to show more backstory on the main characters too (like they could do flashbacks to the other characters too)

Because I prefer to spend my time doing things I actually enjoy vs. torturing myself by continually subjecting myself to things I clearly despise.

It sounded like he wanted to work that into a main portion of the show. And given Season 1 wasn't huge on character development, I doubt he would've done anything but contribute to people caring more about the walkers than the walking dead the show's named after.

I think it was an interesting idea to take a random zombie and retrace their back story to how they got there. Isn't that what they did for the webisodes? I'm surprised they didn't do the tank guy.

I agree it would kill any momentum the main story has, but it makes interesting "side" stories which don't interfere with the Rick storyline.

Yeah, as webisodes, I wholly agree. It worked! But not for the main story.

I don't hate the show. It's better than a lot of the other crap out there. The previous two seasons were just such huge letdowns for me it's hard to get excited about the series anymore.

This season will be the deciding factor of whether or not I continue watching. It's off to a good start so far.

Well I don't despise the show, it just was so irritating the last season. This season thus far seems like a step in the right direction.

I am also surprised they did not do the Tank guy for a webisode either. I guess since that was Darabonts idea they did not want to go with it?

I liked season 2 a lot more than 3. It was slow, but goddamn was season 3 almost at a standstill at times.

This show is the highest rated show ON TV. (minus those reality shows). It's insanely popular. To a point where if you tried, you COULD NOT ESCAPE IT'S REACH.

I want it too live up to that. I want it to be the BEST show on TV.

In viewer ratings WD isn't even in the same class. The only thing surpassing BBT these days is football and the NCIS episode where they lost Ziva.

Yeah, failbus, you have ABC and all the biggies filtered out. On the site you linked it shows that BBT did 33% better.NCIS mauled WD as well, hell Person of Interest beat out WD on the site you linked. Lrn2navigate

You said the top that week, talked out your *** and then posted a link that left out all the shows that were higher ranked. Thats pretty much epic fail or someone who has a high need to not be wrong.

Its a high rated show to be sure, but acting like its got special ratings and that means you deserve something more than whats offered is laughable. Its a TV show, thats it, and pointing to its ratings doesn't do anything to answer what Nam had asked. If someone doesn't like the show they can turn it off. Its no harder to escape than any other show with good ratings.

My problem with you is that this show fails to live up to your expectations. So instead of, oh I don't know, not watching it, you watch it, think it sucks, then get on here to ***** about how it sucks. Do you know what the definition of insanity is?

ETA And by "problem with you" I don't mean that you're a **** or anything. You're good in my book. I'm just saying about how it pertains to TWD.

Me personally I do like the zombie baskstories. Not to take over the main story but It would be fine as some extra story lines. I have read the comics from issue number and enjoy the adventures of Rick and his gang. But these could be some filler material rather than extending some storylines like the search for Sophia. I read alot of zombie novels in one I read recently one story line was in the perspective of a zombie and it really worked. He went from being an officer in battle against the zombies, to being bitten and then to being apart of a zombie horde. Did not take over the main story but added to it.
