Makes sense, that was an ACI figure, and the Pangaea brand is also from the folks at ACI.

I did.
It's a recast of the pangaea the only two big differences for me are ::

the body it's garbage in this new release and it requires a phicen body (it's a must) , and the second it's the armor on Syy toys is diecast including the shield and boots

The quality is there (the armor) but by no means it's a perfect release and some customizations are required

Also the sculpt is the same

What body did you use? His skirt looks a little short...

Happy with the SYY Toys release but I must say the casting seems to have lost some detail compared to the original release.

Armor repaint is mostly done, still need to paint the shield and glue down the plume on the helmet. Going to try to add rooted hair in the near future, and I might remake his leather belt and skirt to get it more screen accurate.

*A warning to those who don't know: Phicen/TBLeague seamless silicone bodies are extremely sticky if they lose their dusting of corn starch. They also absorb dye like you wouldn't believe. I should have done some research before outfitting the M33 body, as I ended up staining the most of the body (especially the legs) by pulling on the black leather without protecting the body or leaching the excess dye out first.


All in all this has been a fun learning experience. Little by little it is coming together!

I purchased this and it's fine for what it is. For someone who had none, this was a fantastic buy.

Still thinking of getting the Haotoys Greek First Bloody Version....aka Achilles. Waiting for reviews but so far nada.

I think it’s pretty great. Got the clean version but haven’t seen a thread for it here so can’t shout it’s praises without creating one which I’m too lazy to do.

I switched out the sword holding hand for a generic ‘loose grip’ hand as it allows for a more natural looking signature Achilles pose.

A phicen body will always be the way to go here but I’m still satisfied with how it looks about of the box.
Materials are excellent.
HH outfits always seem to run on the large side but he’s got some serious display presence. The armour, shield, sword and helmet are so beautifully designed and the diorama adds so much to the display.
It’s very rocky though so tough to find ideal foot placement and the slanted column didn’t really attach on mine; the magnets are extremely weak. Initially I thought one was the wrong way around but flipping it over changed nothing so I just put some chunky double sided tape under it.

The quality has made me regret not POing the Hector but his armour is way less cool and he doesn’t have a diorama base.

Gotta figure out how to get the belt off to do the body switch and get a smaller display stand for it, but otherwise it’s a fantastic figure. I really like that head sculpt. Wow....I think I'm going to purchase the Bloody version. I think that head looks great. I am not that knowledgeable of a collector, but those pics make it look fantastic.

I got lucky and po'ed hector, assuming he's sold out currently?

I have the Haotoys Gladiator villain...cannot remember his name, but that was also an exceptional figure imo. I have the Blue and White armoured Joaquin Phoenix version w/o horse though. But again I am fairly new to all this stuff.....so I am not a "detail" oriented collector as others are. I simply want a decent representation. Almost anything currently impresses me.

Oh man, now you’ve made me notice that the paint on HH’s shield is wrong. They basically took an opposite ‘negative’ approach to the screen colours.
Oh well. It was advertised like that so there must hopefully be some reason beyond incompetence to justify it.
I won’t bother correcting it but it wouldn’t be that hard to do so long as you get the right shade of bronze/gold paint.

I was shocked to see how good the head sculpt is when I opened it. 3Ps across the board are slowly raising their quality- not to current HT head sculpt levels- but the margin is far smaller now so they can be displayed alongside HTs without looking outclassed.

I ended up ordering the bloody war version... seen different names for it.... but I have a soft spot for blood and Battle damage... toys.
