100% right...they with whatever flaws remained true to Star Wars

totally agree. I never walked out of any of the PT questioning whether I wanted to see more Star Wars movies. KK and Ruin hit all time new lows with TLJ

TLJ makes me actually watch to watch the prequels again. I’m going to throw them on tonight and let you guys know how much I missed them

Still better Star Wars movies than TLJ.
Absolutely agree. TLJ is just as bad as the prequels and is filled with stupidity just like them! People complain about characters like Jar Jar and yet Rose is more so annoying because she's not even so stupidly bad that she's funny. Super Leia has already been mentioned plenty of times. The entirety of the casino planet is a joke. What about BB-8 PILOTING AN AT-ST?!?!

The prequels are still bad (ROTS is actually somewhat good at least), but TLJ is no better. What makes TLJ worse is that it ruins aspects of the previous films more so and is a bigger slap in the face to fans and the franchise.

Happened to me as well. Rewatched only ROTS for now, but that's because I watched the others only a few weeks ago to get back into the SW mood pre-TLJ.

I'll never deny that some parts are hard to sit through even for someone who enjoys them (that's why we have fast forward), but compare that to the fact that I don't want to see TLJ again even once... Whereas I have watched the prequels countless times over the years.

TLJ hasn't made me appreciate the PT any better.

But it has made me realize what light-in-a-bottle a good Star Wars movie is. Very hard to make a good one.

I would argue that Poe isn't a strong male role model. Yes, he struggled in this film, but seemed to have figured things out by the end of the movie. Even Leia gave him her blessing near the end, as it's obvious he will be leading the Rebellion in the next film ... while paired off with Rey.

Paired off with Rey? They'd better have him get his buddy Finn's blessing first, regardless of whether it's his or Rey's idea. Poe knows Finn has feelings for her. With his being a fighter pilot, he more than anyone should know the importance of being a good wing man. :lecture

Wish I could watch ROTS on a big screen again...

That intro sequence is pretty amazing.

Something I would add about the prequels, is that the making of content is well worth a watch.
I'm not saying it will definitely make people appreciate the movies more (helped in my case though), but it's still a good thing to see how much passion and care went into these. The teams at Lucasfilm really are incredible, and it's great to see George interact with them and listen to his thought process. That's when you realize he really has all this inside his very prolific mind. But obviously, he should have hired directors, and could use some help for writing dialogue.

Slowly?

If it wasn't for Adolfo, this thread would sink to page 2 in a day.

Those are the second kindest words spoken to me in this thread. ..feeling choked up ...my grief from the Star Wars funeral was most hard to take...thanks for the kind words

they've taken down several of the Hamill interviews on youtube where he's complaining about the movie. but they can't bring down those posted by independent users so it'll live on in infamy no matter how hard Disney is working on damage control behind the scenes LOL!!

R.I.P.

Here lies the body of Star Wars...

Died on its ruby anniversary...

For forty years it entertained with originality...

Now its destiny is simple banality...
