Damn I really want this statue but the money, pose and base is really preventing me from picking this piece up.

Was thinking the same thing. A definite improvement over the terrible Sand Trooper and recent First Order Trooper

? Uh No just no. This is not a better pose than the First Order Trooper as it looks like a pose out of the film. The Sandy also is similar to other Sand Trooper poses.

This is the most awkward posed Trooper ever posed in near everyone’s opinion. Not everyone but close. I say this all respectfully of course to your opinion.

I’m not sure if he’s looking over the edge of a cliff or about to start running. Unfortunately they base makes it worse. I would have likely bought it had it come posed as they stood in the film in the beginning.

The statue itself excluding the pose and base looks extremely nice.

I saw this in Orlando .. and it looked great !! Nothing wrong on the pose.. a bit unusual.. yes.. but it did not looked strange to me at all ! The base .. I must admit I havent paid to much attention of the look of the base.. but I dont remember it looking cheap plastic and shiny.. they had 2 of them there.. so I assume those were production pieces..

Mine should process tomorrow and I will be happy to share thoughts on this once it gets delivered next week.

My Optimus Prime just shipped yesterday woot but they charged to wrong card after confirming the card. My new shelf is framed and covered awaiting lights and trim.

I did once a custom base for an awesome guy ( ) that is also a board member.. and thats something I would have in mind if doing a custom base for this guy..

So this took me like at least 30min to assemble.. without the video and instruction.. NO WAY ... but its a very very nice statue !! LOVE IT !!

BUT ..

The base is horrible. It feels cheap.. it looks cheap.. and its SO HUGE.. unnecessary huge .. I will make a new base for him for sure.. more length wise so another statue (like a stormtrooper OT) will fit next to him...

I agree with MYC. This is a great statue with cool accessories. However, base is way too big for no reason and the paint app on the base is dull.

MYC - if you are doing a new base, I would be interested.

Ended up getting this one a few days ago on impulse and was mired with problems from very weak velcro to warped/bent weapons. Plus both rifles would actually hover above the trooper's left hand and of course, the foot peg would not go in all the way in classic signature SS fashion. Returned for a refund as I simply was not feeling it anymore.

Pretty cool piece though...very detailed and imposing, but damn the base is huge. It's literally as big as the iron studios Vader base, and thats a damn big base for a 1/4 scale human sized statue.

I finally got this and it is a great statue for sure. It sure was a bear to assemble though. I went with the exclusive heavy rifle, but honestly the standard rifle is great as well. I'm OK with base because of my shelf setup but I'll take a look at what you make, MYC!
