Shelf lighting.

Ok, I bought a new shelf today but the problem is it's black so the lighting in my house isn't quite bright enough to to see my figures I'm displaying in there as well as I'd like.

Does anyone have any suggestions on some soft lighting I can install into each level of the shelf that can be plugged in to the wall and operated by a switch?

I'm trying to stay under $50 if possible. Any help is appreciated.

I went with these

DIODER LED 4-piece light strip set - IKEA

They're the perfect size and shape for the shelf I have, plus it comes with four which is exactly how many I needed.
