Another problem with Trek is that the studios just keep dropping the ball woth it. The 2009 movie was a huge hit. It’s 10 years later and how many of those movies have we had? 3. How many marvel movies were made in 10 years and look how much in the zeitgeist that franchise is.

Trek is handled poorly there’s no two ways about it.

Network or cable TV is also a huge issue. This is the golden age of TV... and yet trek is failing to be innovative. Same re hashed stories on the same procedural format.

Think of what could be done for a trek without boarders...

Who knows maybe Quentin Tarantino can save it.

Regardles, let’s not pretend us old trekkies are relics of the past.

That info is old. There won't be a new movie.

As someone who was never big into Trek (but saw it as a pretty popular property) I am surprised at how poor the line seemed to do; like I couldn't believe Picard was discounted to $100 that one time. He's the main guy on one of the most popular series. I don't know what you gotta do to sell figures out here.

It's because the figure is kinda crap, has nothing to do with picards popularity. Also 1/6 in general is kinda dying slowly. No resale value anymore, no one really cares. I've pretty much stopped entirely, on to Funko pops, legends and neca.

When I develop Trek, I always asked myself this question, “Can this be done any better?” if it can be done, can it be produced?

Those who couldnt answer these 2 questions, will end up like all those failing 1/6 companies in terms of qualities.

1/6 production is not cheap, and it is not like buying a hamburger where you just walk in and order, then delivered. You need a minimun 6 month plan on every figure. If you do one figure at a time, then is easy to guess what will happen on the release schedule.

1/6, is a warzone because of limited human resources. There are a lot of mind games, competition, politics, and hard facts (continue production) within the production area. As we know, they are Chinese, and they are all from different provinces and function as a group. All the best paint shops are from Haubei, all cut and sew are from Jiangshi..... they all have different characteristics and function differently. I cant use the same attitude when I deal with anyone of them.

Another issue is production leverage. This is trade secrets so you can imagine it yourself.

Some mentioned about Trek merchandising issues. One needs to realized that, Trek competes with Trek. I observed the fans for 10 years since 2009, and I had the same conclusion.

Look, a series consist of 7 characters, that is USD1400 investment. The buyers will do a mental calculation of his or her bank roll. You can further this reasoning yourself without me going into details.

Not EVERYONE can buy EVERYTHING we put out. Without a solid understanding of these, each figure is a gamble. I, do not gamble. When each figure is a gamble itself, then each figure can screw up the next and subsequent figures (anyone who wants to be in the industry must study Medicom history)

I have a plan that will work with this phenomenon and turn a bad environment to a possible amazing results. (I followed Kirk's advise. I changed the rules to favor Trek vs Trek).

If my hypothesis work, then my socialist/communism production economic theory can be applied, where the market will consume what we supply and cost will no longer be a variable but a fixed cost that can be diversified across the entire product line)

Simply put, I will be able to create Supply creates its own Demand, and I can also achieve production leverage in reducing cost to produce at a “LOWER” quantities while maintaining quality and cost (communist economy). An extremely practical and flexible production that follow the rules of guerilla warfare. Imagine, I can produce 1000 figures at $60, and I can do $63 with 300?

I believe strongly that I can do this after observing and functioning within the 1/6 circle for the last 3 years. My calculations also lived up to my hypothesis, and the people within the industry also believe I can succeed because my plans matches theirs and thereby creates a win-win scenario (everyone is fighting their own war, as long as there is no conflict of interest, all can work together)

Yet, the company has a very different view point.

I myself DO NOT believe following failing companies business model is a good “gamble.” The cleverest thing to do is to gamble with the winners, going along with the losers make you one of them.

I worked in the gambling industry for 20 years because I DO NOT believe in gambling on wishful thinking.

This is where the problems start. I see myself as a professional 1/6 developer and producer specializing in Star Trek.

I also see the entire Trek universe (except DISCO and KTL) as a whole because of Trek vs Trek.

EVERY SINGLE TREK FIGURE is to path the way so the next to be release figure will have a easier entry into the market and secure.production scheduling.

I STRONGLY believe only under these plans can ensure1/6 trek servival with flexible production leverage. It can also go deeper into the line and allow me to target specific group of Trek fans, and produce the Trek figures for that particular series without compromising other series' market share, thereby continue to fuel my Guerilla Production Leverage, even in a lower production quantities.

Any other plans, I hate to say it , will fail as we can see in the industry.

A note about the accuracy of my hypothesis. My hypothesis were 1.5 years ahead of the actual events. Most of them already materialized like what I predicted.

Please note, I can be 100% wrong of what I just said. But they are educated guess, not some ideas that pop up to my mind.

Now, I have explained the core issues. It will be easy for people to understand why thing happened the way it happened in the last 3 years.

I love Trek. I love 1/6 trek because I love knowing those who have these Trek figures will have a smile.on their face.

I think many of you knows, I really care about the friends. I believe this is what made the real differences. Strategic reasonings are just the by product from my attitude toward my friends.

I cant let my friends down. I can not produce lower qualities Trek figures because this will kill the future of 1/6 Trek.

Well, Nanjin...if you choose to continue the Trek adventure/journey in 1:6 scale count me in. If this means you create an entirely new start up company, just let us know when and where. I think there are many that will support your endeavours. Lower the production numbers, keep the quality, even up the cost and I bet the truly passionate Trek collectors will pay...

thank you for your support.

The problem is only Trek can support my hypothesis.

My importantly, I love the Trek friends that I made in the last 10 years. The smile on the friends' faces are my dilithium crystals...

without dilithium crystal is useless for me even if I have the Ent E. But with my Trek friends smile, I can reach places that no one can reach, I can fight any wars ahead of me, and I can master any alien languages that I encountered.

I feel like I'm reading a manifesto but enjoying it! Maybe I'll get a Trek figure some day; I'd like to support you!

Nanjin, you are easily the friendliest and most giving of all in this industry and I support whatever you end up doing. I think if it were up to many of us, you would just be straight up running QMX as you see fit.

I suspected something like this was going on. I could always tell you were trying so hard to get stuff to us and QMX seemed to always be on the fence.

The other realities you've already spoke on. Trek fans are very divided about what they like and who they will buy while a marvel fan will feel like they need 4 Captain Americas and 3 Thors. Paramount seems unable to keep Trek popular for average Joe's. The 2009 film was huge but they just didn't do enough to keep that momentum up.

Good luck in everything Nanjin and I hope QMX sees all this and rethink what they are doing.

What really frustrated for me, is I am just one step away from making history in Trek merchandising. Twok and the subsequent releases... As we can understand through that “Toys that make us,” trek merchandise failed because there werent any global long term plan!

If you like TOS, then everything after TOS will be at par with the top producers but with the cost of 2nd line figures. I dont need to go into thousands to get my cost advantage, I can apply this to even small quantity like 300 or 400.

When everyone is struggling in cost and quality ratio, I can turn this around and benefit from it...

anyway, is frustrating to me. I am like watching my children grew up and they ended up as a regular in a casino.... their assets will be drained. Standing and watching it happen hurts deeply.

I am late to the party but saw the TOS figures on qmx (some are sold out) damn they are amazing. If nanjin is the man behind those well done!

There are a lot of people behind the scene. I am just the conductor orchestrating them when and what to do. They are the Heros who did all the hard work, and I am the villain who acts like a crying baby [emoji4]

Maybe...

But if it hadn’t been for you, from your very first customs that I proudly own, to the gems you’ve been putting out ever since, ST would still be a dream for most. It is your vision that made us happy kids again, and for that, we all need to thank you.

And wherever you go, whatever you do, we’ll follow you!

The 1/6 crew of the Enterprise had accomplished their mission if you can remember who you were before all the contamination.

This is what these Trek figures supposed to do. If one friend remember whom he or she was, then everything I did in the past 10 years meant something. They have made a difference [emoji4]

I have high quality versions of the original trinity, Kirk, Spock and McCoy, on my shelf, so no matter how everything else turns out, I'll always be happy with that, at least. Scotty, if he comes out, will be gravy.

The others would have been nice, and I would have kept buying, but I'm still very happy with what I actually have. And thankful.

A real Sad day if you are a Trek fan. It is like Trek
without Roddenberry or QMX without Tam .

Well, you see where I am going with this.
QMX ST even if they are going to half ass
the production, the line is going to do a slow death.

Unless QMX has the resources like Hot Toys
the production from Headsculpt production to
sourcing of the factory, to clothing fit and fabric
selection will suffer big time.

If you are a ST fan, I would suggest you guy hold
all your PreQMX/N Figures . All the old figures
will now skyrocket once word gets out they will
Never be made and the creator/ producer is
“ leaving the show” such a pity

The AutoCad guy just brought these bodies to me. He spent 2 weeks redesigning the entire internal structure. We believe these will be the number one 1/6 bodies as of today. (2 versions with 3 combinations each totalling to 6 bodies variations that can cover all Trek male bodies except Saru)

I had great plans for 1/6 trek, not only because of TMP, but also my 10th year in pursuiting 1/6 trek.

.....depressing... btw, I fund the redevelopment of these bodies. If my Trek can not use them, I wont use them or even sell them. Only our Trek figures deserve to use any of these.

If we don't get to see all of your hard work come to fruition, I think all of us will need to gather for the funeral and buy a round to one of the most promising lines in toy history that never was :(
