I'd like to see a couple of pictures of the storage space Sideshow uses!

They dont have storage space.
SS ship straight from the Delivery to the Euro warehouse!Lol

It is poor planning buy "US" the buyers for having to have everything that ships in the same quarter.

I think this was on page 2, this sure is a huge thread.

If you are a LOTR collector and a completist it is not poor planning, it is reality. SSW shipping everything together puts a huge strain on the completist, or heck, the person who likes all the new stuff. SSW could have made it easier on the collectors buy not pushing stuff out so fast. I agree that moving items up like Sauron and Amon Hen makes it much worse.

Also, has anyone ever tried to call Customer Service and ask them to hold your order for a week or so? SSW may be flexible and help you out.

I am not being hit very hard because I spread the wealth between dealers and SSW. I have Amon Hen coming from SSW, Galadriel from Alter Eagle and Eomer Helm from DSC. That's my solution.

Alter Eagle?

Anyway, I've stayed pretty much out of this, but I am in the camp that sees this as more of a perceived problem by some people who want it all, and on their terms, rather than a real problem with Sideshow.

And like Daveyjaro, I have most of the pieces coming from different dealers (Sauron from SuperNatural Art, Amon Hen from Alter Ego, Galadriel from Toy Anxiety). So, as it works out, I probably won't see these pieces for another 6-7 weeks.

67 weeks! ack! that's over a whole year!

oh wait... <img border=0 src="https://home.earthlink.net/~dstephan/gifs/1261.gif" />

I think threads like this are pretty good. They're a bit like Drano.. they heat things up a lot and get stuff flowing when sometimes there is just sludge built up and nothing is moving.

It just gets a lot of people to pay attention to issues that are extremely frustrating some people: even if not most people, at least a significant minority.

That's a VERY good idea, Davey! I have considered it myself once or twice but never actually called to ask. Actually I forgot about the idea until you mentioned it. Dawn (bless her soul) has told me about how the payment charging and shipping was occurring for I believe what was the Gandalf on Shadowfax statues. And in that case you actually COULD have the shipping put off for a period of time, but I think it's only a matter of putting it off until a later time when they get a different source shipment from China/wherever, and then they ding you at that time.

That's just because they were getting shipments at different times... I guess it all depends on timing.

We were told they were coming...
We were e mailed they would be coming...
We were e mailed that our charge card would be charged...
We were advised to cancel orders if we changed our minds...
I fail to see any problem other than if you don't have the money to purchase an item, don't order it...
:rolleyes

I don't see why we should have to pay at all at this point. Haven't we paid enough! They should just send us the rest of the pieces for free.:bliss :bliss :bliss
:mwaha :mwaha :mwaha :mwaha :mwaha :mwaha

Taken lightly, that's hilarious.

Also keep in mind that Sideshow doesn't really like this at all either. They are somewhat at the mercy of the scheduling at the factories (who manufacture for a variety of companies, not just SSC), the vagaries of the shipping industry, the warehouse space available, etc.

I'm sure they'd like to release a slow and consistent flow of product, especially when people are having to cancel their direct orders because they can't afford everything at once.

I agree with you on every single point VTX. :clap :toast

We've known about these coming items for several months.
Cancel the ones you can live without and pick them up later
either from one of the board sellers, or Ebay during the flood.

At this point, there are very few pieces that are skyrocketing,
so you won't be out anything if you cancel and get later. You
actually could make out better that way. Look at the GoSF
Statue, Gothmog on Warg, Sauron Mace, Troll Busts, etc.....
All can be had very easily from numerous sources below list price. :yay

:peace

I'll second that yay, JS! <img border=0 src="https://www.maxwellsgoldenhammer.com/emo/joy.gif" />

yeh i second that. they have limited warehouse space and i'm sure if they had a choice they would rather not have so many different products all coming at the same time.

i had asked ss before, the most that they can hold the item for you in the warehouse is for a week. just imagine that each piece are in their thousands, so yeh i'm sure those in charge of processing and shipping would also rather not have this situation given a choice.

this aside, i'm wondering how come all this is happening. the factories in china sudd has an increase in staff and they are working faster? else i would have thought items would be staggered to arrive as they would prob do a product at one time. i'm not exactly sure how they work. :dunno

Im with you VTX...
stop your whingeing and cancel your orders until a point you can afford them off ebay.

Problem solved...
SSW aint at fault one bit
:hat

I really get frustrated with your spelling. I would consider your grammar to be not terribly bad, the spelling really gets on my nerves, Josh, over the long term.

The grammar doesn't bother me either, it's the easily corrected spelling that does. I feel like months of reading posts on this board that are spelled and written incorrectly has made my writing skills significantly worse.

CCT- What I find a bit saddening is that people will sell off older more classic aged statues for the newer ones. The way that feels is people losing their individuality in their own older owned collections to the reality of the current all having the same items (more or less)... Of course there's nothing REALLY wrong with it, but it's just discouraging that I can't see people being excited still by their pitmasters and Urukhai swordsmen, orc warriors, Arwens, Legolases, etc... and actually *limiting* their purchases of new things to just 1-2 or 3 out of who-knows-how-many there are coming up... 8? 10? MORE??

That's a VERY good point Nemo. I came into the game pretty late, so my purchases have tended to lean towards the newer releases only because I can't afford much of the older stuff. I have omitted Galadriel, Pippin (going to return), PJ, and all of the helms from the new releases. I recently found a comic shop that was selling an Orc Brute for $125, and I LOVE it. Certainly better than many of the newer releases, and well worth it at that price.

I can't wait to get the Fell Beast, Treebeard Bust, and possibly Frodo, Sam & Bill, and the Stone Trolls once the line ends and I have the money. I am definitely getting the Fell Beast and Treebeard, and I am anticipating that more than just about anything.:banana

Just think how everyone would feel if they got Aragor & Legolas & Gimli out with all of these. You also have the chance that Aragorn, Legolas & Gimli, Peter, the Mumakil & the last environment will all be shipped around the same time.
