New BTTF Delorean from Diamond

There is a raised smooth area sculpted on the grill where the DMC logo should be. This would probably need to be sanded down. Is anyone interested in sculpting a DMC emblem?

Isn't this the same exact mold as the Sunstar 1/18 version except that it's a little bigger with lights?

The EE hover conversion Delorean has been released. Yes the car Has some inaccuracies, but overall I think it's pretty detailed with lights and sounds. The glaring omissions due to trade dispute is the DMC emblem on the grill, tires and the de lorean name on the bumper. If only someone could cast a DMC emblem to glue on the front grill.

My DeLorean arrived today! I'm very pleased with it. No, wait, I am awe struck! I should have taken pictures of it in the box, but I could help but take it right out. I will try to take a picture of the empty box soon.

I do have a few minor complaints, as I am a BTTF purest. The Mr. Fusion label is a sticker. What the hell? The exhaust pipes are upside down. And for some reason the license plate sticker on mine is also upside down. There are also a few paint issues. BUT for $35 I'm not going to lodge any protests. It really is an amazing scaled replica.

Awesome to see how much bigger it is compared to the Sunstar version. Thanks for that comparison. I also wish they had done a few things a bit more accurately (especially the wires wrapping the rear wheel well like the Sunstar, wish they had corrected that...) but with a few adjustments to some of the details, these replicas will be REALLY cool...Especially for that price!

Yeah, it could definitely be more accurate. Like the Mr. Fusion, the top is a clear hollow plastic painted white. It wasn't glued on! Well, at least that was a quick fix. I am satisfied, though.

I also took a picture last night, after posting this, of the car with the coils lit. If you hold the button (which is cleverly hidden) down of 3 or 4 seconds, all the coils light up and makes the sound effect of the car going through time. Then after about 3 seconds, it makes the sound of the car coming out of the future/past (aka the sonic boom). It's really awesome.

Thanks! I think the DMC logo looks a little dodgy, but I should be able to make it look better. You are right, the license plate should be easy to fix.

It's funny you should ask about the time circuits because mine don't light up at all! I didn't know they were supposed to until I saw someone reviewed his on YouTube. But I think all three light up.

And at close inspection yesterday, after my initial hysteria over it, I noticed the paint is real sloppy in a few places. Mostly the black pieces that would attach the coils to the car. Everything else looks really well done.

Sorry to hear that your time circuit lights don't turn on. Maybe you can ask for an exchange from Entertainment Earth. Or you can smack your head against the steering wheel like Marty and hope that it'll turn on. J/k.

The reason I asked about the circuit lights was because of the video reviews I've been seeing on YouTube, one showed just two levels lit and another had all three. Wasn't sure if it was due to a reflection or camera angle. I know the prototype had all three. Was curious if DST made some changes since the prototype.

Btw, I still think that your DMC logo looks pretty good. It gives the time machine a more complete feel to it.

im customising this model at the moment to make it more movie accurate. I added circuitary, the logo (because the car can't be without the gmc logo) lighting effects and some time travel frost weathering effects on the front and rear of the car. Ill be adding more features to it in the future to make it a proper replica. vid below.

Which one would you guys say is better? This 1/15 DST DeLorean or the 1/18 Sun Star Die-cast version?
+ Does anyone have pics of the 1/18 Sun Star model, cause I cant seem to find any decent ones myself... some help would be appreciated.

As I said, I couldn't find good pics of the Sun Star version, I know the frame is metal, but I'm not that aware of other differences. Exactly why do you prefer Sun Star???
