Remember the last extension of a previous franchise? Superman Returns? That worked out well didn't it?

“Some of us have a tendency to romanticize our childhoods,” Goldstein explains. “We like the notion that Rusty has chosen to forget the less-pleasant parts we saw in the [first] movie and thinks it was just the greatest time.” In a sense, Rusty is now Clark. “We want [Rusty] to have the same fatherly impact on our audience that Clark did in the original,” Daley says. “Clark Griswold is everyone’s dad, and we want Rusty to be [the same], with his goofiness and relentless optimism and ability to embarrass.”

What I read from this is that they basically just going to stick the Clark character with a new name and not make him unique at all.

I bet i'm right.

Clark- Ed Helms

I don't know or care about the kids.

Mom (forgot her name) Elizabeth Banks, or Kristan Wigg.

Brother- Zack Gallafinakis.

Directed by someone who did The Office at one point.

It looks like Ed Helms may be playing Rusty in this ill fated idea.

HAHAH! Holy ____! I knew it!

He IS playing the father! HAHA! What do I win?

:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol

I have no interest in seeing this at all. Wouldn't they be better off doing a real sequel with Chevy Chase as the grandfather? As bad as Vegas Vacation was, I'd see another Chevy Vacation movie over a reboot any day of the week.

Vegas Vacation was awesome. :monkey1

Eddie should make an appearance. Without these things, I'd be very skeptical.

The guy who played Eddie is crazy in real life. Him and his wife thought there were Hollywood hitmen after them, so they moved to Canada, that was after they got kicked out of a house they were squatting in.

^ Zack Galafanakis will be the perfect replacement.

Or, if they get really inspired, Nicolas Cage.

THIS!!!!!! :clap:rotfl

I really need Clark to be in this. I will probably Redbox it with or without him. I don't get the HUGE backlash. Whatever. I agree without Clark or Ellen or Eddie (didn't realize he was a whack job in real life too!) it's not gonna be the same. But it might be a funny movie in the same vein nonetheless.

You know, it wasn't great compared to the first 3, but compared to most of the crap to come out in the past decade its comedy gold.

Hey, if the 'Star Whackers' were after you, you'd hightail it up to Canada too.

I loved Vegas Vacation, it was great for me, Sure it has a nostalgia thing to it, I would watch it on Cinemax when I would visit my grandma, but I loved it, I thought it was funny and cool, I loved everyone in it,

I was a kid when I saw it. Maybe I wasn't as critical? I actually like the Christmas one the least :monkey3

I guess they can still get the car back for this film...
