No because Amour was not promoted as much coming up to voting time as Lawrence's movie. It's a know fact that studios wine and dine the members of the academy.
I've seen both movies. Have you?

Nah, the hurt feelings are in the Argo thread.

I guess. Saw it in the trailer. It looked cool but I wasn't blown away by it. Sorry
This is coming from a guy who has never seen the movie. See the movie before you have an opinion on it or get out, because at this point, it's considered trolling. I don't get how someone can be so angered by a movie they haven't seen. I heard it on Facebook and now on here. We get it, you have a hate on for this movie, even if you're going based on a trailer here or a teaser there.
Also, I find it ridiculous when someone posts "sorry" after they post something. Clearly they aren't or else they wouldn't have said it. lol
I've no hurt feeling personally I think one performance was better than the other. JL was better in Winter Bones.
Have you seen Amour? (3rd time of asking).
Interesting as you have stated Jennifer deserved the award without seeing all the other performances. Maybe that is how the academy works too. LOL
And no, I haven't seen it. Looks pretty dreadful to me based on the trailers.
How is this movie religious? Is it about a generic sort of spirituality, Buddhism, or syncritism (mixing of religions)?
Spoiler:Ok, I understand that the animals were representational of the people, a Sailor was the Zebra, The Cook was the Hyena, Pi's Mother was the Orangutang and Pi was the Tiger. These animals represented the "wildness" or instinct they were driven to in order to survive. I also came to the conclusion that the Island represented Pi giving in to cannibalism (the island itself, as he sails away was shaped like a person) in order to survive. Basic things still leave lingering questions for me, like when he (his human side represented by himself and animal side represented as the Tiger) was the only one still living aboard the lifeboat, why did he live on his makeshift raft? Why did he also bring all the food and drinkable water aboard the raft, only to lose it during the Whale scene.
We should have a royal rumble of all the movie snobs.. and just go at it. Biggest ***** slap fest, guaranteed.
