Hey guys,

I'm putting together a custom base for my Rey/BB-8 HT figure. I used a mdf wooden base and made a border around it to house the sand. I added real bits of moss and grass with added stones for detail.

Still to add a few old pots etc.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks

I like it. Nice work

It'd be too big for a detolf but the at-at foot would also be a cool idea. You said you're putting some pots. You could still make the funky bread and green stuff that she ate. Then imagine the scene of her chewing like a cow :lol

Thanks guys!! The AT-AT foot is a great idea! I made a barrier that goes right around the base. The sand is then put on top of pva glue and the sand absorbs into the glue and then sets hard, with a slight loose sand on top. So no mess and everything stays put!

I really love how much realism this adds, would you happen to have any tips if one were to make something like this but with snow instead?
It brings out the figure more. Once Rey and BB-8 is on it, it should look even better.

It's made from MDF, then used plastic strips for the boarder to add the sand and used pva glue to keep the sand from spilling all over the place. As for snow, let me look into this and get back to you with an appropriate material to use!
