im not bashing anything, simply stating my opinion!
its nothing to do with older vs newer, just what looks nicer on display! i went for the figure i thought looked the best, if i thought hot toys was the way to go, i would have proudly displayed that with the rest of my collection. im just trying to help the guy who started this thread, and assure him, as someone who owns the figure, which one is the definite version

there it is. the pics dont lie

the new century one smokes the old hot toys one. the jacket may be more accurate on the old hot toys one, but the tailoring is pretty awful, it looks like a ken doll to me compared to the new one (which I also own by the way and love, once put on a truetype)

It's great that you think you have the definitive version. No need to be abrasive towards those of us who own the Hot Toys version.

Just because the dude withThe ht mills did a crap pose dont mean da fig crap. I stil prefer da ht bootleg!

Im with Raymond on this one. All the versions shown here represent Mills but the New Century is the definite winner in terms of looks. Plus the real bandage on the head sculpt really looks great in person.

Fine. I think those of us who own the original were trying to be nice, and not tell you guys the New Century figure is poorly executed, even as bootlegs go.

The New Century figure is far from the "definitive" version of anything. The only thing it has going for it, is they stole the head from the Hot Toys version. Here is a list of things you will want to do if you buy a New Century Mills...

Upgrade the body
Find a screen accurate body armor set
Find a screen accurate jacket
Find a screen accurate holster rig
Find a screen accurate gun

With that much to do to make the figure worth the money you paid, you might as well build your own and it will be cheaper in the long run. It doesn't matter how good the tailoring is on the New Century, if it falls flat in so many parts.

Hell, the customs here come closer to screen accurate than the New Century figure.

The Hot Toys Mills is rare. It's expensive on the after market. But the only thing needing an upgrade are the body and paint job on the head. If someone were to spend a little money bringing it up to today's standards, it would crush any other Mills figure out there, because the people who made it actually took the time to make the clothing screen accurate. And for someone who has never seen one in person to judge the tailoring is a joke. You should see the way the thing is put together. Even the pants have a working zipper on the fly that is in scale. With a little futzing on a new body, it would smoke even modern figures.

Those of us who own Hot Toys Mills shouldn't need to upgrade it for people to respect it. It's history. It's where Hot Toys came from. Eric So, the designer of the figure is a legend in the custom toy scene. So if you want to pretend that some hack job bootleg company can do better by stealing the HT head and putting it on a barely recognizable outfit, go ahead. But there are people out there who own the original, and know better.

How much did that cost all together??

I can post some links to parts if that will help.

There is a Hot Toys Mills figure on ebay right now, if you decide you want one...

Here is a Pitt head...

Here is another Pitt head, unpainted...

Here is a body armor set that looks pretty good...
https://cgi.ebay.com/Hot-Toys-Secre...QQptZLHQ5fDefaultDomainQ5f0QQsalenotsupported
This armor looks screen accurate, but is for a female figure. It might work though, because Brad Pitt wore his body armor tight in the film...

This armor is cheap, and would look decent...

Here are some pants that would look great on a truetype. Hot Toys Joker pants...

Here is a link to reference for the guns used in the film...

And here is a 1911a made in diecast metal. It's a colt, but I will keep looking to see if I can find the Springfield 1911a in 1/6...

This gun looks very close, but I don't know if the light is removable...

Black: https://cgi.ebay.com/PA092-1-6-Acce...QQptZLHQ5fDefaultDomainQ5f0QQsalenotsupported

Pleather jackets are tricky. Some look really bad. Here are a couple that could work with some futzing...

Here is an interesting pleather jacket. More expensive though...

Every Mills figure needs a pair of these...

Which body armor did you use? It looks very close to the one on the Hot Toys figure. It's screen accurate too. Very nice.
