Not sure how I feel about this yet, having the rooted stuck behind the diorama set is really dumb, I thought they learned with Joker.

Obviously not^^

Price wouldn't be that different with or without it. $200 difference between their sculpted -> rooted has been pretty standard so far, diorama base or not. If anything, the diorama is $50 at most.

Yeah, but not just that, it’s delivery costs added.

That's not quite true:

Aragorn: 335 vs 480
Batman: 380 vs 500
Bruce Wayne: 291 vs 380
I stand corrected. $100-$150 for an rooted upgrade is actually cheaper than what I've been thinking they've been doing. Although I guess that lines up with what they've been charging in China for this figure ($300/$480) with the base being roughly a $25-$50 add on. The extra cost from Kit is for covering his side on shipping.

I'm not surprised that the base isn't separated. They probably don't want extra SKUs for each figures release just for a base. It's sort of like Hot Toys making a DX base be separate from the rest of the package, which I don't think they've ever done. The only "downside" here is that we have to go through an oversea retailer, which jacks up the price. Doesn't really reflect on them not "learning" from Joker when their pricing for this is on par with the rest of their releases in China. We just pay a higher price due to having to get the figure through other means.

That video is immense. Also love the fact they let the figures speak for themselves against blank backgrounds.

Always hated HT’s over processed and stylized preview specs.
Something I noticed in the video is the diorama/base.

The base has a window and stairs that aren't just cardboard/flat surface, they're actually functional along with fabric on the walls.

Love how you can ditch the Diorama and the middle forms it's standard base, they've thought this out.

Yeah noticed that at the end. The standard base incorporates into the diorama with a faux wood plate going over it. I still don't understand Hot Toys line of thinking in not including the standard base with their deluxe versions.

Also neat to see the light transition showcasing the 3D depth that they tried incorporating into it.

A really great video to see from a company like them. The amount of work that goes into a single character like this, which you think is a simple process, is actually astronomical. 10+ sculpts that get compared and revisiond, countless of patches and fabric testing to get the right amount of drape. Shoes and details needing to be proportionally accurate to the smaller scaled body. Really cool to see. Even looks like they modeled a full custom body for Harry, which makes sense with the lack of proper bodies for kid characters on the market. Makes me wish even more that they would do a T2 John Conner.

Also sounds like they'll be doing more characters from the line and is eyeing to do at least the trio.

All this love and craftsmanship to then be judged and boiled down by some donkey on YouTube to: “tHiS Lo0kS BAd. nEEd mOAr StoRmtr00pers.”

Hard to argue with the price after watching that video.

This one really feels like it could be a leap forwards for the hobby, especially in the tailoring department.
InArt will have learned sooo much from making little Harry; it should positively impact everything they do from now on.

All the experimentation with hyper thin materials, scaling, unique body design etc. will have taught them very valuable lessons and they probably developed some great new techniques along the way.

Even all the revisions from sculpting a child’s face should help with capturing female features in future as they can both be equally light on hard angles and obvious bone structure.

I won’t be POing until KG lists this- probably in 3 bloody days. They’ve managed to provide the best deal on InArt stuff so far so I should manage to get it for a little less than $690, and I’m sure I’ve got a $250HKD voucher in my account. Every little helps.
